I live out of town in Pensacola Florida, but I was traveling and I wanted some soul food so bad I put in my GPS taking me to the nearest Soul food Up this location, I don’t get me wrong the outside looking a little sketchy in the inside may not be fancy, but that food had myself in a chokehold baby. I was stuck in the parking lot eating that whole plate. By the time I looked up, the plate was gone. It was nothing left. It was so good. The macaroni and cheese. The fried chicken was so good the green beans I didn’t even chew baby just swallow. Just ate it all that peach cobbler. I don’t even like peach cobbler, but I ate that peach cobbler to everything was gone. I walked into the store to thank the white girl cause I thought she was the one that cooking, she showed me an Indian man. I was shocked to know that an Indian man could cook with so much love in southern food. I will be back again. I’ve been visiting this spot for years, and it’s always been a go-to for fresh, satisfying food. Just a heads-up—you’ll want to get there early because they tend to sell out later in the day.

On my most recent visit, I ordered the oxtail dinner. Unfortunately, I was disappointed—the oxtails were very small. I also had an uncomfortable experience with the woman preparing the plates. Despite us clearly saying we didn’t want rice, she insisted on adding it, saying it wasn’t an extra charge. That wasn’t the issue—we simply didn’t want rice.

Overall the food is somewhat ok . The macaroni was pretty good . The stuffing was great . I did not care for the green beans . However what made it not so good was how they are making the gravy . I can cook and from what I could tell is they are not cooking the turkey wings down in the gravy they are making some type of separate gravy which does not match the food it almost taste like curry, and looked greenish so I did not like it at all .
