Colleen's business has been on quite a journey, existentially and literally, so Google maps may be rather confused as to the actual location of Colleen's Coffee House and Yarn Shop. As of 2022, it is closer to the beach, just over the little rise past the big wooden Ocean Park sign.
For those that remember, this was the spot of the Full Circle Cafe. After it closed, Colleen took up residence at a bookshop and cafe called Adelaide's until about August 2021, when it closed due to staffing shortages. It remains there with the Adelaide's sign, empty, across the street from MyCovio's, so if you just keep going you'll find Colleen's new spot.
If you love anything to do with yarn, whether knitting, crochet, or whatnot, this is the place on the peninsula to go! There are places to sit and craft, and a good collection to choose from.
The cafe in the front offers various coffee drinks, baked cafe style goodies, and ice cream in maybe 16 or so flavors. The treats are very delicious and of high quality. Colleen and her partner running the cafe are just as excellent as I remember. There are also a few books and t-shirts too. Seating is limited, but for a coffee shop, it...
Read moreVery friendly & hospitable employees, I was visiting the local area and saw the rave reviews from others. I decided to take a visit and boy was it an amazing experience. The gentleman that helped me was very polite and kind, I ordered the Americano with half & half and he recommended the Lemon Poppyseed Bread. I decided to try the Danish and he even went out of his way to warm it up for me and then add a little butter on top. The texture was out of this world and is better than the danishes you buy at the local grocery store, I enjoyed the antiques and yarn shop while I was waiting for my coffee to be prepared. I would definitely recommend stopping by this place either on your way into town, visiting, or heading back I will definitely come back soon to try more drinks and baked goods. They even suggested I take home a pint of their homemade ice-cream, what an...
Read moreThis place is my favorite on the Peninsula! Now, I am a bit biased because I've seen behind the curtain (I worked here and help out if she needs it!) Colleen's attention to detail is stellar and she works hard to ensure that each and every customer gets exactly what they want. Every baked good I have had has been delicious and the standards for what she gives to her customers aren't 'good enough', they are exceptional! On the back end, I've seen Colleen mentor young people and hold them accountable and to the highest of standards. Over the years, I am consistently in awe of her energiser bunny level of energy. She is a staple of the Ocean Park community and, I believe, we are very lucky to have her as a business and a contributor in...
