Doc's Tavern — Restaurant in Ocean Park

I Honestly can’t believe people act the way they acted when my friends and I walked into this bar. Me and my girlfriends were on a weekend beach trip and docs was basically the only option for us , we were after a drink and some small appetizers, nothing crazy. When we walked in we were immediately the center of attention and not in a good way. We received disgusting stares from grown men and women (keep in mind my group is a group of 5 23 year olds) a man chased us down and rudely asked for our ids which we happily showed, my friend who is in between IDs pulled her punched ID and legal paper ID out. She was questioned 3 times and then the manager completely without even coming over to us kicked us out. We were asked if “we knew anyone in the bar” as if that would have helped us out if we did. Very odd. We kindly and quietly walked out no problem for us and On our way out customers who were obviously known by staff happily waved us out As a 23 year old girl I am absolutely disgusted and disappointed with the actions of grown adults towards younger adults who were just looking for a bite and a drink. I would strongly suggest just driving the extra 10 minutes into Long Beach and save yourself the anger of being wrongly refused and outright judged by people either twice your age or being treated like a felon. Good burger and pizza. Service was fast and friendly. Full of fun locals. Awesome pool tables. Definitely a dive bar. Loved it. Update- still love it. My boyfriend and I stopped in a couple nights ago with our new pup. We weren't sure if they'd let us bring in him, but they did, as long as we kept him on a leash and under control. No problem for us at all. We were immediately welcomed by locals and the staff were beyond friendly. The bartender (Rhonda?) is an absolute sweetheart and the owner is a gem. Took 20mins to get a beer/drink, bartender/cook forgot, I was 1 of 3 at the bar. Asked for burger off of basic menu $10 for hotbox food, food handling came after numerous transactions of CASH and other things from people inside at tables, NO GLOVES, NO WASHING OF HANDS before food handling. Do not go here for food...period, or for any reason. Cash only, ATM available at $2.75 service fee. Sanitation department would cringe. Locals bar only. Very disappointed, looked like a legit old time small business I wanted to support, however will never go again...
