Extremely overpriced with underwhelming service. We had decided to take my grandmother here for her birthday dinner, and chose this place because we had eaten here before several years earlier and enjoyed it them. This time we had a different experience. The cheapest entree was $26 for what was essentially Penne a la Vodka. It was $5 for a fountain drink, and the cocktails were $16 a piece. Perhaps this would be understandable if the food was of particularly high quality, but it definitely was not. It took almost an hour to receive our food, during which we sat in direct sun in the heat of the day without shade. We were served lukewarm tap water and had to add in the ice ourselves. Service was extremely intermittently, and we only got our drinks refilled twice during this time while at least three servers hung out on the porch not doing anything. When our food finally arrived, most of it was either mediocre or downright bad. Several of the pasta dishes (which were in the range of $26-$40) did not even come with a side of bread, which would have been an additional $8! The bread that some people received with their entrees was hard as a rock on the outside and amounted to about 1-2 small slices. Some of the portions were so small that we needed to go to Wawa afterwards to get snacks for the car ride home. In the end, we ended up spending $50 per person on a meal none of us were...
Read moreWe have lived in Little Silver for many years and have never been to the Marina until this Saturday when we went out to celebrate our anniversary… and it didn’t disappoint!
What a gem of a place, definitely get a Florida Keys outdoor space vibe and a Highlands seafood restaurant feel inside…
The food was great, for appetizer the clams over white wine sauce was a 10/10. Entrees were the wild boar over fettuccine and a a braised short rib both of which were large portions with remarkable flavor and cooked to perfection.
For desert we had the house cooked apple crumb cake under vanilla ice cream…also really really good.
Also a freebie the Chef gave us a few house made everything bagels to take home for the morning. Apparently that’s a Saturday night thing they do and definitely was a cherry on top to a great night!
Overall we are very pleased and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is on the fence. I’m usually a person who will be hesitant to go to a restaurant that has less than 4.5 stars on google reviews but we decided to try it based on a close friend’s recommendation. The Marina deserves at least 4.5 stars in my opinion.
One thing i think they could improve is the outside parking area could be neater and better landscaped but that’s a small deduction as they might not even be responsible for that area in...
