I can speak about Sands Coffee Roasters from a personal and business perspective. Allow me to introduce myself - my name is Jen and I am the Owner of No More Boring Cakes (located in Vista). The owner of the coffee cart is Moe and he is one SPECTACULAR human! I came across his coffee cart about 4 months ago, just after he moved into this new spot (his cart was previously located in El Cajon). After just one visit, I knew this spot was different, and then one sip of the coffee and I knew I found a gem! Moe roasts his own beans at his location in Hillcrest and he concocts amazing flavors including things like: Turkish coffee with cardamon (made in a sand pit), Dubai chocolate lattes, chai with pistachio, saffron lattes, honey/sage/ lavender teas and this list goes on and on. Of course he has regular flavors on the menu, like my favorite white chocolate mochas. I am a little bit snobbish about my coffee and only patronize local business and let me just put it out there that the coffee is FANTASTIC. My friends and family say that I am now spoiled by this great tasting coffee! And I personally like being in a place with great energy, people and feel good about where my money is being spent. Having said all that, I also chose to invest in Moe's coffee cart not just as a customer. Along with helping him get established in Oceanside- we have redesigned the parking lot space adding bright yellow umbrellas, greenery, tables/chairs and a nice patio. I am so proud of how far he (we) have come in the last 4 months! I have a baking business and every Monday and Thursday morning I deliver 12 baked goods to Sands Coffee Roasters. But you can also find me sitting by the fire or soaking up the sun and enjoying a wonderful tasting drink and visiting with Moe, who has become a dear friend. Not just my friend, but a friend to many! So many people return and have become regulars. Now, don't get any ideas about comparing his place to Starbucks or the like. It is not fast and hard to get a quick cup of coffee - so please come patronize us when you have a few minutes to meander. Looking forward to seeing some new faces! There are banana cake with caramelized walnuts with a vanilla icing on hand and tomorrow morning I am delivering gingerbread cake with a vanilla bean sauce. I would also be remiss without mentioning that Gaby's Taco is great and the sweet family that run it are just the nicest folks around. As a matter of fact so is the owner of the smog shop where the 2 food trucks are parked! Find Sands Coffee Roasters on Instagram...
Read moreSaw this little Coffee Pop-up and stopped for a taste. They roast their own beans which is quite impressive. From what was mentioned it was a dark roast combo I believe, of Columbian and Kenyan origin. A two-boiler, mono (but double-spigot) porta-filter Rocket Espresso machine was used for extraction. Such a dainty Italian machine excellently gushed 3 long shots of aromatic espresso. Though I'm an aficionado of the legacy Italian La Marzocca Espresso machines, the Rocket was relatively fast, and pulled 3 long shots with ease. There was a slightly ashy aftertaste from the long pulls but i cut my iced Americano with a brown sugar packet. The Espresso was strong! The setup here was cute, with ample seating and room to chill undisturbed. Great service...
Read moreMy husband has been raving about this coffee place and finally got a chance to go . We arrived & our order was taken right away and the gentleman that helped us out was very friendly, the area is very welcoming with a lot of sitting available definitely an area to bring out a lap top and work from this little coffee shop is a coffee truck parked out side of a liquor store . The area is decorated very nice and kept in good shape.
Now to the coffee I had a white mocha with oatmilk which was so delicious . I loved that it didn’t leave you with a typical mocha taste at the end if you drink this quite often you will know as usually you are left with a bitter taste but the taste to this mocha was very pleasant & a bit sweet . It’s a must try place...
