3 people, all most $200 for the bill. Our food was NOT good. I sent my sweet tea back because it was soured, and the experience went down hill from there. Our waitress was not pleasant, nor attentive (and they were NOT busy). Our waitress forgot our Bloody Mary order, twice! Then we watched the bar tender give our drink to the table next to us, and the comp their bill for it! Meanwhile, could have cared less they forgot to bring it to us, numerous times or the fact we watched them give it to the table next to us for FREE! As we paid our bill, I noticed a 3% surcharge ($5). When I asked another waitress about it (ours was busy eating), she very snottily said “it’s because you paid your bill with a card! Had you used cash, we’d remove that!”. I responded “so you charged patrons to eat here and then charge them to pay their bill?!?”. The waitress then very said (in a very bitchy tone) “all the restaurants here do it!”, and then she started to turn her back on me. I responded “no ma’am, I eat out a lot and haven’t ever seen this!”. When I got to the truck, I called several other seafood restaurants in town and asked if they too charged this surcharge. They all answered “No!”. I then called a friend who manages a high end restaurant in Midland, and asked him if that was his restaurants policy. He too said “No!”.
This restaurants food is NOT worth the prices they are charging, they food is over cooked and flavorless. So….they have to charge ridiculous surcharges, just to stay in business.
Also….I have been quite nauseous since my few bites of my meal, however my...
Read moreI REALLY wanted to like this place. We went for a late lunch this afternoon and I have to say I was really impressed with the atmosphere and the cleanliness. We ordered oysters on the half shell as an appetizer and our order was taken at the same time. I expressed my desire to have our oysters prior to our food as we had planned on enjoying our oysters with a beer before eating our meal. Our meal arrived before our appetizers did. I asked if they could take our meals back to keep them warm and we were told no. Now, because of covid I can understand that. Our waitress went about her way and we had to wait for her to come around again to ask for the bucket set up so we could start eating our food. So we went ahead and enjoyed our meal ..which by the way...was amazing. The manager came around and asked how we were doing and upon explaining to her that we recieved our appetizer after our meal she offered to not charge for our oysters. Thank you, thank you. Long story short...we were charged for the oysters and we were given our ticket before our plates were taken from the table. Our table, as you can imagine was a mess...I had two beers, honey had two glasses of tea, oysters and two crab sacks.....all still there. Management should do a better job following through with their promises as well as training their staff on how to wait tables at a seafood restaurant. Like I said earlier, I REALLY wanted to like this place however I was extremely disappointed in the service and poor management, so much so that unfortunately I won't be back to enjoy that...
Read moreThe ladies behind the bar were all extremely friendly, sadly the white tall young girl with long ponytail was not! She laughed & checked up on her male clients, except us. Everything I asked for or said to her, she always acted like she couldn’t understand me or hear me. She seemed a tad flustered when I would ask for condiments. Good thing we didn’t need refills. She may have been new 🤷🏽♀️ I don’t know. But she sure didn’t act new with her other patrons. I didn’t even leave her a tip & I hate doing that! But she walked outside to tend to a personal call & we literally waited well over 15 minutes on her. We ended up just walking up to the bar & asking for a to go cup just so she’d see us & see if she’d walk bk in 🙄 She did not lol we waited another 2 to 3 minutes till she wrapped up her call. Then handed me an incomplete ticket. I had to ask some one else for the ticket showing itemized total. I’m not a big tipper but I always tip $20 for excellent service. $10 for So so….& $5 for not offering refills lol But she won the cake 🙌 She’s horrible & she needs better training. It’s uncomfortable to watch some one be so friendly to others yet comes to your table with no good reason & you can sense they are way different to you. Worst is there’s no way to prove these things & they can so easily claim we are lying. Anywho, here’s to wishful thinking that waiters don’t do this….if we wanna get bad service I can make my kids...
