Went to the water park 2 days ago and waited in line with my bag. I noticed a sign that stated no big bags. Only clear bags, yet there were multiple people in the park with their book bags and small fanny packs.(They were not clear). Respectfully my husband returned our bag to the car before entering the park and then returned to pay the fee to get in. We were then confronted with cash only. No where on the website does it say cash only. They write CASH ONLY on a small sticky note and stick it to the window. At this point we left and I opted to come back a different day. Today I returned with a small fanny pack holding my phone, keys, and wallet, and a clear ziplock with our sunscreen and was told I was not allowed to enter with my small bag. The security at the front was completely disrespectful and acted like he was something special... come on now.. its a swimming pool for children.. this isnt a freaking war zone. so once again i returned my bag to my car and entered the pool. During our short time at the pool I witnessed multiple people wearing their regular clothes and disregarding the rules of the pool along with people that brought in their small fanny packs. If you are going to enforce the rules enforce all of them. I watched as a umbrella fell off a lifeguard tower and landed on three small children in the pool. Not a single lifeguard did anything about it. A older child removed the umbrella. I dont recommend this place to anyone. We left after they emptied the pool for the life guards to take a break. 0 out...
Read moreProbably the best park we have in Odessa. Close call between that one and maybe Woodson park... Sherwood is definitely bigger though, and stacked with anything you could possibly need a park to have. Ridiculous amount of open space, way more than plenty in the playground equipment dept, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, a small skatepark, paved track (cement walkway) for walking jogging, or biking, large picnic areas, plenty of parking, trees galore, a sand volleyball court (please help keep the trash out of it if you use it, its clean now we want to keep it that way)
And of course.... the Grand Finale...
The largest pool and Waterpark you're going to find for hundreds of miles. Now while that's true, its also true that generally speaking (as opposed to a Waterpark like say, Schlitterbaughn its many many times smaller. Sherwood water park/pool is just kinda tucked into the corner of the park, so its not HUGE but its typically big enough to accommodate the number of guests. It HAS reached max capacity before, but that's...
Read moreThis was a fun place. Check the website and you will get one set of rules and they don't follow/ enforce them exactly but it makes your stay better. If your child is struggling and like a typical parent you insist up and down your kid can swim... They will side on the side of caution and not let them go into the deep water which is just one area. The slide is fun. The kids have fun. The place is a little small but you'll still have a blast. Have cash for the snack place because to pay with card means you're gonna have to go to the front to pay. The entrance fee is very reasonable. It's at least worth...
