This has been our favorite places for a while now. Now most of the staff has never been overly friendly, with a couple of exceptions (the nice girl with the colored hair and one other barista), but we still love the atmosphere and the food and drinks. We come and spend a fair amount of money on both food and drinks at least 1-2 times a week. Today we came in and bought three breakfast items and four drinks. Our kid ordered a late and it wasn’t good, it really tasted off. Everything else was great but not his drink. I told my son to go and advocate for himself and ask politely to have it remade. The girl behind the counter said “not unless he wanted to pay for another one.” Even though We had just spent over $40 and gave a $7 tip. Not only was she a bit cold and rude, but I felt like this was really poor customer service. As adults we asked her again about the drink and she was just cold and impolite, and she was unwilling to try to make the situation right in any way and instead walked away into another room to avoid us. She clearly doesn’t have good customer service skills and maybe needs some training. I have had things remade at coffee shops and restaurants before and I have never had the establishment make us pay for another one if the one we ordered was not good or made wrong. I’m not sure if it’s the policy of this place or just the gal behind the counter but I’m not completely sure we will come back. I’m pretty disappointed with them today. Update: the owner emailed me, called me, and we had a really good conversation. I was highly impressed with the owners desire to have a quality product and to give his customers a quality experience. We really do love this place and we will definitely be coming back and referring friends and family...

My partner and I were regulars here for a while. I am a student and we would come here frequently so I could work on my school work and get stuff done. The staff has never been friendly. They never learned our names or orders like a lot of other places do and were always kind of judgmental, but we figured they were stressed from being busy and never held it against them. The coffee was good enough to excuse the attitude I guess. A few weeks ago we stopped by to study and the coffee was suddenly awful. My partner politely requested a remake of his and was met with a lot of attitude and zero effort, so we decided to shrug it off and not go back. Today we decided to give them another chance because we really did like them for a while. We showed up, ordered, and immediately the barista was pretentious and cold. I had my dog with me, I work in the animal industry and this dog DEFINES canine good citizen. I have brought her with me almost EVERY TIME I have come to this place and she has never caused problems, and the staff had always known and liked her. But today we got our drinks and sat down and I was told that they never had allowed dogs to stay inside the building. There was nothing posted anywhere saying this, and she had been with me during study sessions many many times before. The only thing I can think of is that I keep her muzzled for safety and training purposes and maybe they didn’t want a muzzled dog in their facility. Either way, complete BS and will not...

I just want to say upfront that I LOVE Kaffe Mercantile, and I’ve been coming here for almost five years. They have the best coffee, and the vibe is so great. Up until recently I would’ve considered this a five star place. Sadly, lately this location has been a slight disappointment. Wait times have gotten longer with changing staff even with the same size crowd of customers, and it’s sadly too long of a wait now unless I have 20 minutes and I’m the only one in line. Today I had the worst experience I’ve had here (honestly still better than most shops though!). I came in, and there was one guy in front of me. I ordered one drink. Then a bunch of the staff’s friends came in and ordered after me. I stood there for 10-15 minutes waiting for my one drink while the baristas chatted with them and fulfilled their order. I wouldn’t usually mind too much, but I was standing there holding my one year old, 30wks pregnant, and just trying to get back home for naptime. It’s sad because this location is so close to my house, and it used to be pretty quick with super professional staff. I’m not mad, just bummed because I used to be able to be able to rely on this spot being quick and professional. I’ll be blocking out more time for my visits and likely choosing The Mercantile most times instead. They seem to be the most on top of it location. Still...

DELICIOUS BLENDED COFFEE. That should be all I need to say for you to try it...but I'll say more just in case that didn't convince you. My sister and I were wanting a coffee treat before heading home from Pineview Lake. This cute little shop was on the way so we decided to give it a try. The experience was quite surprising: They have merch like T-shirts, hoodies, etc. with their cute logo on it that I felt was reasonably priced; their waffles are vegan (I've learned to just assume there won't be food options for me at little whole in the walls like this, but happy days, they had some and the waffles are delicious); AND they offer the option to make any type of blended coffee you want. I love blended coffee but never get it because it's usually made with a pre-mix that includes dairy or is heavily sweetened and I don't like either for my coffee. So when I found out I could get an almond milk-based, unsweetened blended coffee I about fell over. And MAN was it delicious! 10/10, five stars, etc. Also, the service was great and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. My only gripe is that I wish there was a replica of this shop in Salt Lake City where I live so I could get blended coffee more frequently! But this was love at first taste and we'll be back to Pineview often so this will surely be a mandatory stop each time :). Thank you!

Kaffe Merc is one of my favorite little busniesses in Ogden! They are very time efficient and everything I've ever had from them is perfection! My go to is a breakfast sandwich with Bacon on croissant and a chai latte iced (the hot one is also so good.) During the summer they do yoga and if you go to the yoga class they do drink discounts! Definitely check them out if you're in the area, I'd recommend them any day! Update: This cute little coffee shop gets busier and busier every time I come! It's one of the only coffee shops you can sit and chat right now. There are groups of people that are regulars and come every week (or more often) to meet up. I've been seeing all ages of people from little kids (2-3years) to older adults. The food is always so good and served hot! If you order pastries they will warm them for you, keep in mind this isn't a bakery so pastries are limited. I overheard a couple say they used to only get Einstein's because it was the most like what they had in another state until they found this place. They said they lives in Oregon for years and it's the only place even similar to the coffee shops in Oregon. Support small businesses and come check them out!
