So this is the third time we have been to this restaurant, and extremely disappointed! First time amazing, they had only been open for about six months, and the food was amazing. The service was on point and amazing. Everything was amazing. I raved about it, I put a Superior review and I told all my family, my friends, my coworkers everybody to come out and try them. Second time was still pretty good. I was still satisfied happy with the food in the service. Then there was yesterday, it’s probably been about 78 months since I was here last and it’s crazy how much has changed. They gave the place a facelift which is awesome. It looks pretty good, but I don’t know if they hired a new cook or they just aren’t that concerned about the quality of food anymore, but it left much to be desired. The worst thing was that my cousin ordered the nachos because the picture it looked delicious. She missed the part where it said it was shredded chicken not a big deal when they brought it out to her. It was like a liquid cheese on the bottom, tortilla chips, shredded chicken thrown on top And then what appeared to possibly be mozzarella cheese or some kind of cheese on top of that that was it she was upset and said hey this isn’t what I wanted. The picture showed sour cream and tomatoes and cilantro possibly beans. The waiters reply was oh that’s we have a supreme, but we don’t have beef to which replied but it doesn’t say that and he said oh it’s OK we’ll fix it and he took it away didn’t give her an opportunity to just say you know what I want something else, but anyway he took it away and he brought this back, look at the picture. That meat appears to be canned beef tasted like it. It was nasty. It looks like dog food and I was absolutely shocked, angry and completely embarrassed for them that they would even bring that out and try to serve that to somebody! It’s absolutely preposterous and disgusting. Shame on you, Needless to say we won’t be going back and I will be telling all my family, friends and coworkers about this and showing them the photos. Unbelievable oh and the waiter I don’t know if he was scared embarrassed, or what but definitely not attentive. Perhaps they need to hire another person so he’s not the only one...
Read moreOnce I got into the restaurant I was greeted by a lovely design which can help you imagine what it feels like to be back in Mexico followed by a waiter who let us to our seats without a wait. We ordered a few appitizers: Nachos con guacamole, queso fundido, Nachos con steak. All of these were delicious, but one thing I do have to say is that the queso was a bit difficult to pick up if the chorizo was not there since it's very liquidy like it was mixed with sour cream. Other than that, it was scrumptious, and I don't usually eat guacamole, but this place has certainly made an impact. We were very quick to get our meals, and not only are the prices affordable, but the portions are incredible. The presentation sure gives above an exceptional rating, especially the Coctel Campechana. The Salsa Verde that came with the enchiladas was a bit spicy, but that to me was really good since it balanced out with the flavor. We also ordered the ribeye steak, but I do have to say that half of it was just fat. I personally dont believe I should have to take it out when it shouldn't be there in the first place. I ate all around the fat and it was deceny okay. Personally, I would rate it a 5/10. Other than the steak, I believe that everything else was absolutely delicious, and I look forward to eating them again. Finally, at the end of our meal, we were given a complimentary dessert (Tres leches pastel). I found this to be fantastic and thoughtful. I will definitely make sure to come here in the forward future, and I am proud to recommend that you...
Read moreTried this place for the the first time today, and was really pleased, except for those starter tortilla chips that others have mentioned and cold, bland, and lackluster texture . . .. BUT!!
Everything else was thoroughly enjoyable. I went on a Wednesday for lunch, around 1pm. Ordered the Tierra y Mar tacos. The chips came with a salsa, the tacos came with a distinctly different salsa, guacamole, refritos, rice, and the tacos were very adequately loaded with shrimp and meat. Hands down the freshest tasting cooked shrimp I have had-- in any preparation, in any restaurant, anywhere-- in the Ogden area, in the 6 years I've lived here. Period. Tacos were very flavorful on their own, and tortillas stood up well to the natural juices from the carne and camarones, didn't fall apart. Were not at all tough, and had a nice chew. Salsas were bright and flavorful, complimentary and not overpowering to the food. Guac was well prepared in that beautiful balance of smooth, but still with small nuggets of avocado. Asked for two jalapenos fritos (IYKYK) and they were cooked perfect, and added that little extra punch. Portions were great, not only in the amount of food I received, but in the blending of the respective ingredients in each element of the meal. Couldn't agree more with the 4.8 aggregate rating . . . If it just wasn't for those darn chips . . . Regardless, I'm already looking forward to...
