Oriental Kitchen — Restaurant in Oglesby

It is always sketchy to visit these carry out Chinese places in small towns but I was pleasantly surprised on the food quality. Yes there is MSG, but the flavors are just right. So I agree with the other reviews, hands down the best within this 100 mile radius.

Update: it is a funny thing, I just realized that before my review and photos went up, there are a couple of crappy reviews with half eaten food pictures, since then, my photos have been viewed 168k times. For this small town take out, it must be some kind of record. But it's is to bad that all of a sudden they decided not to open for lunch anymore. I had a very disappointing experience at Oriental Kitchen. When my family and I arrived, we were looking at the menu and ready to order. An employee came up and told us they were not going to help us because they were “too lazy” and “didn’t have time.” We walked out feeling shocked and disrespected, especially since they immediately took orders from other customers who came in after us.

This made us feel singled out and unwelcome. As Hispanic customers, it truly felt like we were treated differently because of how we look. No one should ever feel discriminated against when simply trying to enjoy a meal.

I sincerely hope the management of Oriental Kitchen takes this matter seriously and ensures that all customers are treated with respect and fairness...

I lived in the area my entire life & this is the best Chinese food you can get hands down. They don't have a buffet but the carryout is so worth it! The triple Mongolian delight is the best! Singapore Chow Mai! Awesome! And their crab Rangoon is huge! Full of flavor. Chicken teriyaki skewers are really good as well. Everything is homemade so the chicken doesn't have that neon red look to it. It actually has teriyaki sauce on it! My family never likes anybody's egg rolls but they love Oriental Kitchen's and always makes sure to get them. Sometimes they get so busy you have to go in to place your order. Again worth the wait!
