Bread Chef — Restaurant in Ohio

We discovered the Bread Chef a few months after it opened, and quickly became regular customers. I've turned most of my in-laws onto them, and they all love it too. My personal favorites are the peasant bread, the ciabatta, and the paesano bread. They are happy to take special orders as well. We've called in ahead for challah to be picked up on Friday, and frankly it blows away any other bakeries within 25 miles.

Just remembered: they occasionally make brioche....oh man is it good! I've never liked bakery brioche before, but they're figured out the secret.

The good and the bad. I have gotten excellent bread from here but this is the second time and the last that I will get a croissant. A couple months ago I got a chocolate croissant and it was so dry it definitely was not fresh baked. The same thing happened today with the almond croissant. I was going to get a cinnamon roll at the vegan restaurant next door and they were out so I walked over to the Bread Chef thinking the first time with the chocolate croissant was a fluke...not so. My son and I went to the Bread Chef after seeing a story on tv. , having never been there ,we were not aware of the store hours we went to the door it was open and walked in only to be confronted by an employee who was very rude she said we’re closed my son said why is the door unlocked her reply was I haven’t had a chance to lock it .
