We just ate there last night and, after thinking more and more about the experience we are really unhappy. In short - it was way too expensive for the quality of the meal and they were very sneaky in their extra charges added onto the final bill.
We arrived and asked to see a wine list and the waitress brought us menus - no wine list. Instead of asking again I just let her choose the wine and it was actually really good.
We were relaxing and enjoying our drinks and after only a couple sips, the waitress asked us if we wanted more drinks, which seemed so odd considering we JUST got the drinks had plenty left. Now I wonder if she was just trying to add to the "sale".
When ordering, the waitress asked me what dressing I want on the salad (not IF I wanted a salad). Didn't seem to a problem until I saw the final bill.
My Delmonico steak that was highly recommended was actually not that good and was lukewarm at best. The potatoes were also barely warm. And the restaurant was almost empty so there really was no excuse for cold food.
My husband's filet which was asked to be medium-well was almost rare.
Halfway through the meal the waitress gave us four slices of bread - one was stale.
Then the bill comes......The salad AND the bread were additional charges! My steak was "market price" and ended up being almost $50. Definitely NOT worth that price.
The waitress quickly removed the bread and salad charges, but I was really disappointed at how sneaky those additional charges were.
This was our anniversary dinner and for the amount of money we spent it was a huge disappointment. Definitely will...
Read moreThanksgiving at Gatsby's at The Grand Resort was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and inviting decor set the perfect festive mood. The staff welcomed us with genuine smiles and impeccable service, making us feel right at home.
The dinner itself was a feast to remember. The turkey was cooked to perfection juicy, tender, and flavorful, with just the right touch of herbs. The side dishes were equally impressive velvety mashed potatoes, rich and savory stuffing, and a medley of roasted vegetables that were both fresh and flavorful. Their cranberry sauce had a delightful balance of tartness and sweetness, complementing the meal beautifully.
But the desserts? They were the real stars of the evening. The pumpkin pie was a slice of heaven, And just when we thought it couldn’t get better, there was a surprise dessert bar featuring treats like creamy cheesecakes, chocolate mousse cups, Every dessert was a masterpiece in flavor and presentation.
From start to finish, the experience was flawless. Gatsby's at The Grand Resort truly outdid themselves, making this Thanksgiving dinner an unforgettable culinary celebration. We’ll definitely be returning for future...
Read moreThe ambiance is beautiful. The service and food preparation was terrible! We waited over a half hour for our bottle of wine that was over 200 dollars. They have a fabulous wine list, but this is overshadowed by the absolutely poor service. Our server should NOT be working in the service industry.
The food preparation was not good. Three meals were overcooked and two were not warm. They offered to re make them, but it took so long to get the first ones that we decided to decline. The manager does not have a clue regarding customer service. Something should have been offered for the wait amd food quality. Oh, they did haphazardly give us a quarter glass of sparkling wine during the wait for the wine.
We did have two glasses of wine at tge bar and the bartender was amazing. He gets customer service and was great.
The wine list is absolutely amazing. I love it. However, until you hire a manager and servers who get customer service and can actually get you the wine in a decent amount of time, the wine list doesn't matter!
Our bill was close to a grand, with a tip that was not earned. I love the place and was severely...
