I stopped by Guilford Lake fairy bar tonight because I was in the area and had a craving for a vanilla milkshake (that is my go to dairy treat...I've had tons of vanilla milkshakes all across the country). I was greeted by a friendly worker. Another friendly worker also greeted us later on in our visit, so if my review was on service I would give 4-5 stars. My 2 star review is because when i saw the price for a milkshake i was in shock. $4.00 small, $4.75 med, and $5.25 for a large. I almost turned and walked away but since i was there i thought for that price it is probably a really awesome shake. My mom and my girlfriend were planning to get ice cream also but because of the prices they decided not to. The food prices looked ok so I'm not saying it's all waaaaay overpriced. Long story short the milkshake was so thick it wasn't budging and i almost fainted trying to get some of it through the skinny straw. I asked them to spin it some more so i could at least drink it without waiting an hour for it to melt a little. Now it was like drinking a cup of milk. I'll take the blame because i asked them to spin more but my point is.. for $5.25 for a milkshake it should be the best milkshake in the county... it definitely was not!!!! Burger king milkshakes are 10 times better and a lot less money. Oddly enough while I was waiting for my order, another lady pulled in to buy some ice cream. She also commented about the high prices and mentioned that she most likely wouldn't be coming to often, if ever. I don't say all this to hurt the business, but as a customer i will not return because the price of a milkshake is NUTS and not worth the money. Most of the time if i go somewhere for a shake i get some food also and the people with me usually do too. Sadly i did not plan on returning to this place anytime soon but i wish them the best and hope this real and honest review helps customers but...

I also had a double cheeseburger. A very nice lady took the order and did the scooping an cooking. Prices were very reasonable. The ice cream was SO GOOD! The portion was well worth the money. My sundae was large, and I had help from my grandson (10mos) he loved it too! The ice cream was home made for sure- very creamy very flavorful. We liked the sandwich too - I know I'll be back for...
