2024 - Update ; (my husband said it was time to give them another chance) WE DID, and wow what an improvement. Food was great and came out in a timely fashion. Service was outstanding. We sat at the bar this time. Thank you for the change, cause I went in optimistic and with high hopes that yinz would succeed and you did! I appreciate that, especially considering you’re one of the only bar/ restaurant around Guilford lake. BRAVO , it’s nice to see good changes implemented with the restaurant! We shall return :)
2022 - FOR STARTERS WE ARE FROM OUT OF TOWN. We are staying at guilford lake. Fri - Tues. Fri we come in, did you make a reservation? Well no, we’ve never been here before. We grabbed the high top @bar that was open. We waited 5 mins for THEM TO decide who wanted to our $$. THAT SECOND STAR WAS TO LANI (dalani) she truly was a breathe of fresh air after we were looked @ LIKE NO ONE WANTED TO WAIT ON US. Fast forward to Sunday. We go in bartender says sit anywhere you like, we go sit down. AGAIN I’m looking at 4 servers looking at US ! Trying to DECIDE WHO WANTS TO TAKE OUR MONEY. I decided then we ain’t eating here, we got up I said thanks and left. 4 of us BTW: I’m not going to TIP someone above average because I’m in the same industry who DOESNT EVEN KNOW IF THEY WANT A TABLE OR NOT. Thanks for making us feel like WE DIDNT BELONG. I hope Yinz are satisfied with the regulars who tip you , your regular money unless it’s a holiday. We definitely won’t be back. UNLESS you can make PEOPLE who never been FEEL WELCOMED ! Oh & I rented a boat SAT. WHICH I WONT BE DOING AGAIN. If we would’ve eaten Sunday. We would’ve been close to $300 in the matter of a few days spent @marks. It’s ignorant how Yinz made US feel. We were just looking for a nice place...
Read moreWe ate dinner here twice in one week. The first night was great service and food so we were excited to try again but the second night was not so good. They were busy so we expected a delay but not like this. Quite some time to get our drink order ( the sprite and coke were both basically water and the sweet tea was unsweetened but we didn't complain because they were busy). We then ordered three meals and 2 of them were the $9 all you can eat pasta w/salad and garlic bread. As we waited for quite sometime without recieving our salad, we received our food and reminded the server of our salad that we didn't get, she then brought it for us to eat with our pasta. Refilled our out of flavor drinks including bringing a diet coke (instead of coke) this time. We then ordered two more rounds of pasta but after waiting quite sometime again, I walked to the server stand and just requested a box because we were tired of waiting and the server obliged and brought our small boxes to the table. Those boxes each had a literal scoop of pasta in each. While I understand that you wouldn't generally recieve a box with AYCE but considering we needed a box due to waiting an extended period of time, I think we could have recieved more than a scoop and atleast a slice of garlic bread (we didn't even get any the second round). They also do not tell you that they charge twice for the shrimp although it's a part of the AYCE deal. Alot of waiting and alot of forgetting, the food was good except for the drinks but definitely not worth the price for the service...
Read moreMarks Landing has a fantastic location and the food was very good. I had the Haddock Imperial and it was excellent. Prices were average. The reason for the three stars was for the service. I was there on a Monday and it was not even close to full. I sat down immediately. But it took about ten minutes to even be noticed and given a menu. I tried several times to wave down a server. But the seemed to be on a mission that did not include my family's table. The cigarette smoke did not help. I have smelled cigarettes on a restaurant patio since the law was passed. But several customers on the patio were smoking. Once we were noticed... We did receive our drinks... But refills were extremely slow. U was tempted to take a drink from the lake. When we asked for anything else (sweeter, extra sugar)... It either never came out or was slow. My wife ordered the all you can eat fish... But like many restaurants that cook plenty of the fish in advance... They were cooking each refill as they were ordered.... Which really added to the time. I will say the server was extremely pleasant and friendly. She answered our questions and listened to my son. But she must have had to many tables is my guess. I am only visiting, so I have no idea if I was there on a off night. I would definitely stop in again next time I am in town. I always give a second chance. Plus the...
