Mr. Freeze ought to be a National Treasure or at the very least a Midwest treasure. If you're in Ohio, you've got to come to Mr. Freeze and here's why... Yes, its soft serve, cheap as ice cream can get but they handle theirs particularly well - it's creamy, smooth, and cold but never icy. Their mix-ins are top notch - fruit is fresh and cold not sour or icy, shortcake is fluffy and soft not stale, Oreos are crunchy, syrup is cold, fudge is hot, etc. Variety. That's all I need to say but I'll elaborate anyway. This little ice cream shop has something for everyone. If you like it simple or complex or somewhere in between, there is something on their menu of more than 100 items for you! Lastly, the least important (to me) but still distinct positive of Mr. Freeze is its value. For example, a quart of soft serve with strawberries, syrup, shortcake and whipped cream is only about $5. I would be happy to pay more for these treats, but am very glad I don't have to! If you read all that, great, if not the summary is that Mr. Freeze is a must-see because of its top quality soft serve and mix-ins, its extensive variety of menu options, and its crazy good value! On top of that, of course, this little ice cream shop has all the foundation for a good business - a good location, reasonable hours, polite and efficient workers, etc. Please give them a try, then reply to me and tell me what you thought!

Great overall atmosphere! So many different families getting icecream. It was cool to see. Got there right before close. The long lineup gave me enough time to decide what I wanted & scroll on my phone for a bit. I was looking for a cool place to stop for dinner/dessert near by where we were staying at. This place had a TON of good ratings, and from the pictures, looked super good! So of course, i had to make it a destination to stop here!! I ended up getting the Buckeye Sundae, which had soft serve, caramel, hot fudge, whip cream, & Buckeye’s (which are like Rolo’s up here in Canada?). My dad got the Turtle Sundae which [I think?] had soft serve, peanut butter, caramel, whip cream & pecans. Price was well reasonable with the portion 👌🏼. There were SO many good looking things on the menu I wanted to try, they ALL looked great. I would be coming here every other week, if I lived close 😆 All in all, Mr. Freeze was an awesome icecream shop, 10/10, glad I stopped here during our trip down to Toledo, would for sure come here again!

Cute little shop. If you go in the evening and hot day, expect a wait because of the people in line. It is very cheap and delicious. I however wish instead of the freewriting menu, there should be a standard and more organized and NEAT menu. I had to basically read to whole thing to figure out what I wanted. Overall; it's a cute little ice cream place.

Oh my goodness, where do I even begin with Mr. Freeze Ice Cream?! This place is an absolute gem, and it's all thanks to the incredible people who work there, especially Lauren! From the moment you step up to the window, you're greeted with the warmest smile and genuine friendliness. It's the kind of service that makes you feel like a regular, even if it's your first visit. What truly blew me away was how attentive Lauren was. On our second visit (yes, we went back THAT quickly!), she actually remembered our order! With so many customers, that personal touch is just outstanding and made us feel so valued. But the real reason I'm singing Mr. Freeze's praises from the rooftops is how incredibly careful Lauren was with my children's dye allergies. I mentioned it hesitantly, expecting the usual shrug or vague answer. Instead, Lauren went above and beyond! She didn't just glance at the ingredient list; she actually took the time to thoroughly investigate the different options, pointing out exactly what was safe and what to avoid. She showed such genuine care and concern for my kids' well-being, which as a parent, means the world. It's so rare to find someone who takes allergies this seriously and is so proactive in helping. The ice cream itself is delicious, with a fantastic variety of flavors and perfect creamy texture. But honestly, it's the exceptional service, particularly from Lauren, that elevates Mr. Freeze to a five-star experience. Knowing that we can go somewhere where our kids are not only welcomed but also truly cared for makes all the difference. Thank you, Mr. Freeze, and especially thank you, Lauren, for being such a wonderful and thoughtful employee! We'll be back...

I had the worst customer service experience today at McCord’s Mr. Freeze. We stopped by around 3:00 PM on 3/8/25, and while I don’t usually leave negative reviews, this was truly distasteful.

I ordered five sundaes for my family, one of which came in a half-pint cup overflowing with strawberry ice cream to the point that we couldn’t even pick it up or touch the side of the cup without making a mess. As we wiped the counter, I asked if they could split it into two cups since we had to eat in the car. The trainee was kind and tried to help, but the trainer dismissed our request, handed us an empty cup, and told us to scoop it ourselves. When I hesitated, explaining that I had no way to wash my hands, she abruptly grabbed a spoon and forcefully flung ice cream into the second cup, making an even bigger mess, then sarcastically remarked, “That’s all you needed to do.”

If I had done something to upset this employee, I would understand the frustration—but all I did was ask for help and a way to actually pick up the ice cream that they made. I had even tipped them before this interaction, which makes it even more frustrating. Instead of a simple fix, we were treated with rudeness and inconvenience. I’ve been coming to this location for over 20 years, if this is the new standard approach at Mr. Freeze, it’s truly...
