Raptis Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Ohio

Family Friday Night now known as 'Girl's Night Out' since it's my daughter, my cousin and myself. Tonight it is Raptis Restaurant in Howland Township in Warren. What a delight! Raptis is a family run restaurant and they do a wonderful job. The restaurant is clean and pleasing to the eye. We were seated promptly and asked what we wanted to drink. Those were brought quickly and our order was taken. We got our food and everything was delicious. I ordered the pork chops. I got three nicely sized chops and a good amount of mashed potatoes with gravy. Yum on everything. My cousin ordered the ham steak and mashed potatoes and gravy. She said her ham was delicious and it was 1 1/2 inches thick. My daughter ordered a tossed salad and french fries. The french fries were soooo good. Crispy on the outside and meaty but light and fluffy on the inside. My cousin and I ordered the peach pie for dessert. It was homemade..not the cheaty kind out of the Can filling. The crust was delicious as well. My daughter got the chocolate fudge cake which any chocoholic would adore. All in all, I would highly recommend Raptis. When we arrived there were 7 of us 4 adults and 3 kids. The hostess sat us at a round table which we were a bit crammed. And for some reason the servers kept going in between me and the person from the table behind me, but we were so tight they would smack my purse which was hanging on my chair every time they went by. It was a bit uncomfortable with the whole seating situation. Our waitress was friendly but not very attentive. The food tasted very good I’m only judging on what I got which was the roast beef with French fries. The gravy had a nice flavor. But the temperature was just room temperature. And I’m a bigger fan of hot foods personally. But no one else seemed to complain so I assume Everyone liked there food. The prices were very reasonable as well as portions. Multiple others were sat with drinks after we had waited for service. The server was snappy when she did eventually come over to us to ask us what to drink and we told her we were ready to order. Noticed her also being rude to another table behind us. We feel like unless you are an elderly regular, your service will be subpar. Food wasn't worth the hassle of getting cash out for their cash only policy. The scrambled eggs were flat. The french fries had zero seasoning & were undercooked. My husband said I make better pancakes & coffee at home. We wanted to come back to try the burgers but thanks to the servers' nasty personality, we will never go back. I'm sure she's glad about that.
