We stopped in and ordered a large pizza, a personal pizza, a strawberry pie, and a sandwich for carryout. It was over $50. We were told it would be "about 20 minutes." After about 25 minutes, I asked about our order and was then told, "your pizza is just now going in the oven. It will be about 8 minutes " Finally, 20 minutes later, our order was ready. I was frustrated but had been wanting to try the food
The pepperoni pizza was actually hot and tasty, but the Texas tenderloin sandwich I got was not warm at all, and the edges were so burnt that it was not possible to chew it. The main thing I went there for, the Loaded Potato personal pizza was good but practically cold, and they did not include the sour cream it was supposed to come with. I think those items must have sat out while the pizza was cooking. Highly disappointing to be served cold food after spending $50, then standing in the crowded convenience store (no organized pickup counter or waiting area) for almost an hour for an order that should have taken 20 minutes. They were not apologetic at all.
We will not be back. The pizzas were good, but not worth the hassle. We won't even risk DoorDashing it, because that same 45 minutes we were stuck waiting, a DoorDash driver was also waiting on a pickup order and had to keep sending apologies to his customer for the delays. They will not have our business again. This was just a huge, disorganized disappointment that ruined my Mother's Day lunch with...
Read moreI have drove past this hidden gem for 30+ years. I was aware they were famous for their strawberry pie but I didnt know they also served fresh deli items such as lunch meat and a variety of salad options in their deli case. My favorite was their "boiled ham". I hadn't heard that term since I was a kid and pleasantly surprised when I walked in and seen it in their deli case. So I bought 2 lbs and it tasted just as I remembered it from my youth. I also opted to buy their oreo pie. Wow! That was absolutely divine. It was rich and addicting. My family was so impressed. They also have a mini grocery store inside. So if you are on your way to a picnic or family BBQ, you should be able to find a wide variety of crowd pleasers inside this hidden gem that will provide you with a one stop shop that will please everyone at your next gathering! Definitely a WIN/WIN in my book. I suggest that the next time you drive past "The Buckeye Barn" you take a few minutes to stop in, take a look around, and make a tastey purchase. I promise there will be something there to fancy your taste...
Read moreI haven't been to this restaurant in at least 5 or so years. Last I remembered it was rather good. I said why not and went ahead and ordered food other than pizza. I have regrets about that as of now. We ordered several items, one of which was the buckeye burger. Sadly, while the patty itself was good; the burger was tainted by old lettuce and miracle whip. The steak sandwich was good and had decent chemistry with its ingredients. The tenderloin was cold and a bit hard, with a very stale bun. Finally, the chicken strips were ok. I did notice something however. I have no doubt that this place is reselling canes sauce as it's "barn sauce" is nearly identical to it, with a very minor change to taste. Overall, for the cost of $40; I could've went to nearly any other place on that end and gotten much...
