I understand that I'm not eating at a high end restaurant, but this place is kinda gross, I get that it's a restaurant but the place in general is poorly maintained, the vents for the AC are black and filthy, the walls and baseboard are all black and dirty, you can see where they've had water damage in the ceiling and it's damaged and moldy. ALL THIS BEFORE I EVEN EAT THE FOOD.

Again, I get its a small town and an older building but the absolute negligence is kinda surprising, the manager and all the staff in this place walk into this daily. Have some pride in where you work, basic cleanliness, were eating at a dive breakfast place, stop price gouging like I'm eating at a quality restaurant.

I ordered the corn beef hash, I paid $18.00 for it, it was burned and poorly cooked, the hash browns were soggy and had zero flavor, the food couldn't have been thrown together any worse. My girlfriend had the ham omelet with chunks of vegetables so big that it didn't even make sense to have in the omelet as they won't cook preperly.

Save your money and go to a McDonald's over this place, any place in Ojai is probably better actually.

i have been super sick and recovering so when my family went to breakfast at home kitchen of ojai they sent me a picture of the menu so they could bring something back. everything seemed good i ordered oatmeal and they also brought me back a pancake but my oatmeal did not come with fresh fruit or a juice like the menu said it would even though we paid full price? it sucks because i was really looking forward to the fruit and juice and got none of it. im not sure if they tried to rip my family off or something but that sucks. I ate the pancake even though it also didn’t come with any extra syrup or butter ots it was good till i tasted a chunk of batter still uncooked💀 nearly almost threw up, family said staff were friendly though so that’s good to hear. hopefully everyone else will have a better experience here i don’t mind also giving it...

POOR QUALITY! I wish there was an option to leave zero or even negative stars. My turkey sausage patty’s were paper thin, and I have doubts they actually subbed regular sausage for turkey sausage. My husbands ribeye was less than mediocre. We were literally gagging it down because we had a busy day and needed to eat. We let the waitress know that we were less than impressed with the quality of the food and how awful it all tasted. She apologized but they did not have any integrity in their business or even try to make it right on our bill. We paid almost $70 after tip and left with a brick feeling in our stomach from such poor quality meat, and shortly after we are looking for a different place to get a decent meal. Ive had better breakfast at Dennys or McDonalds for a fraction of the cost. I would NOT...

First time visitor - My wife and I are local and thought we'd try out Home Kitchen for dinner, glad we did! We stopped in about 7:30pm and found it very quiet; only one other couple was there. We were quickly seated and the waitress took our drink order. Found the menu to be plain, basic fare but that was exactly what we expected from a place called Home Kitchen. We both ordered the chicken, twice baked potato, and another side. I got the street corn and my wife had the house salad. I had the chipotle sauce with my chicken and found it to be delicious! The server kept my iced tea filled as it was a little spicy but really good. We split a cheesecake for dessert and decided we'd be back to try some of the other menu items.

I stopped here for brunch while staying at a nearby campground. I was encouraged by the large number of customers, I figured that many Ojai folks couldn't be wrong. I may have misjudged the collective taste buds of Ojai, though. The food was okay. Nothing to brag about, nothing to really complain about. Just... okay. I'm okay with okay food if it's cheap, but when it's pricy that's not okay. Home Kitchen is pricey, at least for what you get. The service was good, and the biscuits were big (even if they were just okay). I saw other tables getting pancakes, and they were huge. I can't comment on their okayness (or lack thereof), however.
