We have lived here for over 7 years and have always loved this donut shop but today is the day that ended. I’ve witness the owner be very rude to people in the past but just chalked It up to her having a bad day because most of the time she’s very nice.
Today my kids and I were treated with the most disrespect I’ve ever witnessed, all because my daughter took what was less than 30 seconds to pick a donut. (Side note-We are a dye free family so there’s only 3-5 donuts they can pick from, so choosing isn’t a hard task and normally they get the same thing everytime so it’s a very simple process.) She then proceeds to call my kids slow and then told me “I don’t serve slow people” and skipped us and served not only the person behind us (which was the only other person in the store) but then went on to serve the person that walked through the door as she was finishing up. Then when they said we were here first she pointed to my kids and said “they slow kids I don’t serve them” At that point my kids are crying and as we turn to leave she said goodby slow kids with a smile!
I really truly hope that she is just having a very bad day and doesn’t think that these actions...

Their kalaches are spot on amazing, sweet and spicy, they got cheese, they got peppers and they’ll 100% offer to heat that bad boy up for you, and don’t get me started on their apple fridders, I never leave without my apple fridder, and heat it up with butter when I get home, mmm mmm mmm. And you better get here quick on a weekend because they always got customers. Go Figure! And one more thing, for the love of all that is good, if you’re contemplating going to shipley’s (donut shop) DO NOT DO IT YALL biggest mistake of my life was choosing that place over J&Js, worst kalache I ever had, I almost cried. If there’s one thing I’ve learned during my 17 years on this earth it’s that J&Js NEVER...
Read moreWent in for the first time today excited to try out the donut shop that’s so close to our new home. I walked in with my young daughter and saw an older woman come from the back talking on the phone, no greeting, no pause, but we needed a few seconds to look at the two trays of donuts available anyways (maybe low stock day?) so not a huge deal. Nonexistent greeting is the norm some places. It is what it is.
But as she continued to talk at the counter looking past us I gave her a nod and a hand up that we were ready and walked up closer to the counter only to be met with the “one moment index finger up” as she continued talking.
Even gave her another 30 seconds after that for any acknowledgment.
We left and drove to Dunkin’ Donuts in Yukon. It was worth the 20 minute drive to be greeted and treated like we existed before we spent money in a store....
