Tierra Caliente — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

I found this restaurant through Google reviews and it did not disappoint! The staff were friendly, helpful, and wonderful. We chose the buffet. They offered us corn or flour tortillas or bread and we chose both kinds of tortillas. They went so well with the buffet I definitely recommend ordering tortillas if you get the buffet! The buffet itself had salad, fresh fruits, desserts, rice, beans, and various entrees. Nothing was labeled but there were a variety of meats stewed in yummy sauces with vegetables, shrimp, fajita meats and vegetables, and what seemed to be fried pork (maybe chicharrones- this was a favorite of my daughter's). The meats and vegetables were all so tender, flavorful, and delicious! There was a variety of soups and stews and the ones I tried were SO good! The buffet also had multiple sauces and toppings which were all really great with everything I tried. The bread selection on the buffet was great too! There was a roll that was shaped a bit like a croissant and had sugar on top and was so fluffy and delicious- not flaky and buttery like a croissant. It doesn’t look like much but it was hard to find a parking spot!! Walk in and yes I felt a little out of place! Had a friendly smile and they got me a person who could speak English. Got a clean table! The place was very busy! Had a buffet out and lots of food on it! It looked good a different. I order some red beer. They where great, nice and spicy! The chips, cheese and salsa where great nice and fresh! I got the pozola it was the best I’ve gotten!! So tasty with a good amount of bread! My beautiful wife got chicken Enchiladas. She loved them. Absolutely wonderful experience! The food was authentic and delicious, the atmosphere was spotless, and the staff truly goes above and beyond for their customers. We were visiting from Arkansas and craving good Mexican food — we took a chance on this place, and it exceeded every expectation! To top it off, my husband accidentally left his phone on the table. We didn’t realize it until we were three hours away. When we called, the restaurant kindly offered to mail it back to us — and they even refused to let us pay for the shipping.
