This place had SO much potential but is missing the mark. We went in with a group of 6 on Saturday shortly after they opened. First impressions this place looked SO fun and inviting if you could look past the multiple broken bottles in the parking lot and whole beer bottles scattered around. I actually picked up one so someone didn't get a flat tire. It was pretty easy to dismiss that, though, because the atmosphere here was truly inviting and gave me the impression I was going to thoroughly enjoy my time spent here. There were approximately 3 or 4 other tables of people in the restaurant at that point. The hostess was cold to us and flat rude to the other workers. After our first round of drinks (which were amazingly cold delicious beers that really hit the spot), we waited 20 minutes before we even saw another employee we were able to ask for more drinks from. We finally ordered at that point as well. Another hour went by before our food got there, and I had to ask for it before it actually came out. It was cold. Like COLD COLD. We ate the food and could tell it wasn't bad food, just wasn't good because it was cold. I asked for water that I had never received. Having learned our lesson, we ask for our checks as quickly as possible. Once we received our checks, there was a 20% gratuity added to the bill. Now we did ask for 3 separate checks for our party of 6, so I don't know if that is why. But I have never heard of this nor were we forwarned that it would be the case. Because we would NOT have been tipping 20% with that service. I have heard from other people who live in the area that this is a common experience, but I wanted to try it out because the place truly looks like a ton of fun! But I can't imagine how they will stay in buisness long if they can't keep their money makers (alcohol) coming and turn the tables over faster than what they were doing Saturday. I really and truly hope the best for them and that they figure this out because it has SO much potential. The atmosphere is amazing and really seems like a great hangout spot. But for now, they have...
Read moreWe went to The Drunken Rooster to celebrate our son's 7th birthday. Upon arrival, we are told the pool is $11 per swimmer. Then, as we sit, we are told it is $10 per person near the pool, swimming or not. There is no lifeguard. There is a sign outside specifically stating anyone under 14 MUST have a parent present. So they charge you $10 to watch your own kid in the pool. So now I am sitting watching my children swim, paying $10 to do so (had it not been his Birthday, we would have left and gone to Blind Swine), while the rest of our party eats inside the restaurant. My children ordered the kids mac-n-cheese and chicken tenders. The food was so bad we had to send it back, when a "freshly" cooked round was brought out, our children still couldn't eat it. The food had a disgusting smell as well. The tenders taste like Styrofoam. And they are as dry as can be. Customer service is lacking as well. Knowing I was going to go sit with my children, and no glass is permitted in the pool area, I am served a beverage in a glass. Somehow, that doesn't quite work. Save yourself the frustration and ridiculous costs and the future stomachache from nasty food. Go elsewhere. We won't be back.

Your costs on Facebook are simply by the hour. No where does it state that under 14yos must be watched and the parents have to pay to do so. Yes, you run a scam. Your food is disgusting. My husband orderd the "special". It was a freaking kids burger and burnt! You lie openly about your cusromers....my child did not eat over half the second "try". She took 2 bites, as did my other child, and both asked if they could just eat at home. It was nasty! As is your attitude. You accused my husband of putting a cigarette out in your floor. He did no such thing. And for me, I used a plastic cup and threw it in the trash myself! Prove otherwise! Got cameras? Yes, we have eaten there once before, and it was God awful. We gave YOU a second try, and that's it. Does Afton have a...
Read moreWe went here this past weekend while visiting from out of town. It was very busy and loud, but I would expect that on a Friday night with a live band (who were great btw.) After the hostess seated us it was atleast 20 minutes before we even saw our server and ordered our drinks. We contemplated leaving, but this was one of the only restaurants we could find that was still open that late so we stayed. Drinks and appetizers came out very fast, but our food took forever. About 45 minutes after we ordered food I was finally able to flag down our server and ask how much longer it would be. She couldnt give me a time estimate, but said there were about 7 tickets in front of ours. At this point I asked to cancel our order and pay for the drinks and appetizers so we could leave. We'd been traveling for hours and were very tired. We thought we'd be grabbing a quick bite to eat but that wasn't the case unfortunately. When she came back to the table she told us our order was up next and we said ok, we would wait a few minutes longer but would like it boxed up to-go. The food was pretty good, but the experience was not. It would have been nice to know about the long wait for food when we ordered. Our server never even stopped by to update us on the situation the whole time we were waiting. Also all of the servers looked extremely stressed out and seemed to be frantically running around the restaurant trying to keep up. As a former server myself, I do understand that restaurants can get unexpectedly busy and things don't always go smoothly, but I wish we'd gotten better communication about the wait times so we could have made a decision to stay or go before wasting so...
