Hy-Vee Market Grille — Restaurant in Olathe

This place has gone way downhill! We've been to Hy-Vee Market Grilles before and had good experiences, but no more!

When we got here there were signs that said to place your order first, then seat yourself. Except there was no obvious place to put your order in. We waited around, then finally saw a waitress, and when I stopped her to ask where we place our order, she pointed to the front hostess station, but there was nobody there. We waited around for awhile, and right as we said we should just go somewhere else, the same waitress showed up to take our order. She said she was the only one here! That should have been our sign to go elsewhere, but we ordered and sat down.

After waiting about 40-45 minutes, we started getting some of our food, but my son's showed up last, when everybody else was almost done eating.

The food was so gross I had to choke it down. I got chicken tenders, and they were so overdone, they were hard and chewy and extremely salty. My dad and husband's sandwiches were...

Arrived right as the Market Grille opened. Staff was abrupt, unhelpful, and seemed annoyed to have customers. Unfortunately you pay immediately after ordering and although I thought a generous tip might encourage better service, it had zero effect and the whole experience was bad. Floor and tables were visibly dirty. High chairs were unusably dirty with old food all over them. Food was very slow and there was a 10 minute gap between the first meal being delivered to the table and the last meal being delivered. First and last time visiting this...

The burger, while a generous size, was bland and over cooked for the medium I requested. Staff was friendly and mostly attentive, but was very distracted talking to the day drinkers (not judging, they were having fun and good on 'em). The chicken salad was excellent. I think it was just an off day and I'll happily raise my review after next visit if the few complaints...
