Mary Lou’s Pizza — Restaurant in Old Forge

It was my first time ordering a pizza from here. We got a red pizza with extra cheese, 1/2 pepperoni, and 1/2 mushrooms. It was very flavorful and was cooked all the way through. It was a thick and chewy (not in a bad way) crust. You could see they added extra cheese. They didn't skimp on the pepperoni or mushrooms. Definitely got a piece in each bite. I didn't get heartburn from the sauce, so I was glad about that. The price was about average. I think it was about $22 for a 12 cut square pizza. The guys working there were polite and friendly. Red pizza crust lacked any flavor. Sauce was best described as bland lacking any hint of herbs. It was improved adding black pepper and rosemary. The crust did have a nice crisp texture. The double crusted white was much better but not the best that I’ve had. The establishment was clean and the plates and serving pans were above par but not necessary. The prices were on the high side but not outrageous. The staff were friendly and I hate to be so negative. Maybe it’s just my taste or they had an off day but the customer numbers were very sparse....
