Picc's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Old Forge

I've lost count of how many times we have driven the 25 minutes to get Picc's ice cream. There are closer places, but not better! Their ice cream is delicious; a very high quality and servings are quite generous. The staff greets you with a friendly hello and smile when you walk in. Inside, there are granite-topped tables and comfortable chairs and padded bench to enjoy your treats. The tables, chairs, floors are all SPOTLESS. In the ice cream business, it's got to be difficult to not have stickiness everywhere, especially when children are involved. But they somehow manage to keep the shop looking and smelling wonderful. Great selection of ice creams, Italian ices and ice cream based concoctions. Even vegan, sugar-free and doggie options! They also serve all things coffee. From a regular cuppa Joe to authentic cappuccinos and espressos. They even have cold brew on tap! And it's a great tasting coffee, not the over roasted flavor and high price tag of chains. I've read some reviews that complained about having to wait. Obviously, no one enjoys standing in line. There have been plenty of times there was little or no line at all. But, I look at it this way: there's always a line at the best places. And I've noticed that the staff is very conscientious about not only getting your order correct, but allergy contamination and cleanliness. Those things might take an extra minute. But I'd rather that than quick but...

Let me say that first of all, I'm not a huge "junk food" person to begin with. However, this is the type of business that can change your mind. This is by far the best place I've encountered up to this point for ice cream products, in my opinion. They have a speedy drive-through service and a walk-up window. There is plenty of parking and are very easy to find. Now the best part. They have so so many flavors of soft and hard ice cream that you can choose for any of their dishes. Enough so that it becomes difficult to decide what you want. They even have a doggy bowl bless them -seriously, for your fur baby. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I've never been greated without a smile and told to enjoy my day/night All the items are a good size at reasonable prices. Personal note: try the strawberry sundae and their chocolate peanut butter shake, lol They have like 2 inch thick ice cream sandwiches lol (another example) There is so much variety that it really is terrific. If you're in the area ,at least try them once, more than likely you'll return for more. Thank you to all the staff at Piccs. You make the simple act of getting ice cream a great experience. I was bummed when l found out Jitty's closed, I've been getting ice cream there for over 20 years. However l tried Picc's and OMG their ice cream is sooooooooo good and cheap!! 3 of us got small cones, and let me tell you the small cones are HUGE!! It was under $10 for 3 of us! I got the salted caramel and it's now my new favorite. It was amazing! They also offer samples so you can try it first. They have all the old school original flavors along with some crazy concoctions as well. Soft ice cream, chocolate, vanilla and twist, flurries, milk shakes, sundaes and eveything in between!! Ohhhhh they have Italian ice to! If your not in the mood for something cold they have a coffee bar!
