Taqueria 207 — Restaurant in Old Orchard Beach

Loved the atmosphere and the friendly environment. Staff was great and immediately got us menus, showed us the specials, and answered all of our questions. We ordered and sat down. Our food and beverages were brought to us pretty quickly. The portions of the tacos were great, the pineapple mango salsa was delicious, sweet and flavorful. The guacamole was fresh and definitely homemade, the texture was creamy but still had those small bits of avocado throughout. It had a great ratio of onion and tomato as well, could have used a little more salt and lime for my taste but overall, definitely a lovely guac. The hot sauce was perfect, just enough heat and the small cup it came in was good for multiple tacos. The horchata was cold and the flavor was delicious, perfect balance of cinnamon and vanilla, the creaminess was great too. I ordered a birria taco which was delicious, the cheese was melted evenly and the meat was juicy and tender but it didn't come with the consommé dip, which was a slight disappointment. Tonight, 5/19/22, I made a $26 online order, which included a 20% tip. After completing the order, the web page said Hooray, your order has been completed and will be ready in 25 minutes.

I arrived at the restaurant in 20 minutes and the gentleman at the counter advised me that they were still working on the order, which was fine as I arrived 5 minutes early. I waited inside the restaurant for 25 more minutes and still did not receive my order. In the interim, 2 customers had come in, ordered at the counter and received their food.

After the 25 minutes, I went back to the counter and asked the status of my online order that was now ordered and paid for 45 minutes ago. Again, the gentleman told me they are still working on the order, which was 2 burritos. I replied back saying that they are not working on it, that the order must have been lost. I told him I could not wait any longer and, if the order ever comes out, to just give it to someone else or to the staff.

It was very disappointing service and the lesson learned is to do not tip for anything until the service...

The service here is terrible. You don't get anything complimentary, including salsa, and if you order the salsa, it comes in a plastic throw-away container. The salsa had no spiciness whatsoever. We didn't have a server, just random people bringing stuff from the kitchen. Had to tip before getting the food, and you can't order from your table. Had to explicitly ask for things we had ordered like dip, drinks, and margaritas. We didn't get the margaritas until halfway through the meal. Never even got our elotas we paid for. Cheese dip is almost as thin as milk, very disappointing....it's also supposed to be a cheddar dip with jalapeños blended in, but this was entirely white. Burrito was half rice, way too many black beans, and the carne asada meat was diced so small that you couldn't taste it. Edible, but not enjoyable.
