Not great... The food was decent, but the service was slow and inattentive. Just was one thing after another unfortunately… The server repeated back my boyfriends and my orders when he noted it, which was a good sign. The samosas came out fast, and the second appetizer came out about a half hour after. When our entrees arrived, we were given the wrong orders, and mine came out SUPER spicy, (when I specifically requested it to be please be mild). The server then tried to tell my boyfriend he was wrong, and ordered shrimp- (not the fish one my boyfriend had asked for when he ordered). I sent mine back for a mild flavor. I actually really don’t like sending food back, or wasting food- however, I have a major intolerance to spice, and just can’t eat it, nor enjoy it. Our new food order took a long time… and we both got our orders and the waiter accidentally dropped mine. (As you can see in the photo)
It was an accident, and I understand that. It happens! The waiter said he just wanted to go home. I felt bad for him. He then went to the back, we heard a lot of yelling, and he never came back to clean up the mess. Nor did anyone come back for that matter to clean up the mess. Which was disappointing… My boyfriend had to put napkins down for me to walk over, to get out of the booth. I guess the waiter was having a bad day, as we all have been there. The other worker asked me what happened as the waiter wasn't leaving the back area and "wasn't talking"…
I told my boyfriend to get the bill as I wanted to go, and sampled enough of my boyfriends fish curry, which was really good! They said they could make me a new one, but I said after the first two I couldn't wait anymore. Throughout our time there, I kept going up asking for more water, and felt like we were dismissed/had been forgotten about (even though there was only one other booth occupied,) I saw long delays of people waiting for their to-go orders who were losing their patience. I had high hopes for this place as I live right by it, but I will stick to 'Desi' in Oldsmar in the future. I hope this place...
Read moreThis response is in regards to the comments posted yesterday for the order issue that we received from Ubereats. Yes, the Naan was missing and yes the chicken vindaloo we ordered was not chicken vindaloo. Yes, I reported to Ubereats right away and they were kind enough to issue me a full refund. This is not our first experience with Tikka Masala. We have dined in here before covid and received stellar customer service. We have also placed togo orders multiple times by phone and through their online portal. Lately, customer service has gotten downhill (not sure if the owners/management has changed) and a prime example is the response that we received where instead of owning the responsibility to the situation, rectifying and correcting it, they shifted the blame to us customers and the Ubereats driver. I called the Ubereats driver right away to let them know about missing item and whatever item they packed in the to go container. We ordered chicken vindaloo and that was not chicken vindaloo. It was the basic tomato gravy watered down with chunks of chicken, rice was cold and dry. Last time when we placed order through their online portal, we went to pick up the item after 40 minutes, food wasn't ready and we were asked to come back later, which we did and didn't complain because yes it is understandable that peak hours can be busy and overwhelming. When we went to pick up the item, the food was just placed on the counter, we were never apologized for the inconvenience (which is basic customer service). I just read the entire reviews posted here in Google and to every negative reviews, whoever is responding back here is taking it as a challenge to bash the customers and denying the restaurant's fault. As a regular patron of this restaurant, my request is instead of being offended by negative comments, utilize this as your opportunity to see what went wrong and what you can do to make the...
Read moreNot a real Indian restaurant. Take it from another infain. Worst service and Indian food ever. Out party ordered appetizer to share but got no plate. Asked for pates to share and the server/owner was like "order the rest of the food first then I get you plates." Anyways we ordered we ordered three dishes and 4 naans. And when the food came only the dishes with one small bowl of rice. And when we asked lady went to counter to take money. Took forever to bring the naan. We had to remind her that our naan are missing. And lady was making excuses of why not bringing all the food at once. And yet still didn't bring all the naan and rice that we asked for. Someone came and order some too go food that food made before our naan came. Lucky there was another White gentleman who came to pick his food and I asked him if I was in wrong or the restaurant. Even he said that Indian food taste good when hot not cold. On top of it the rest room were so unhygienic. I was so disappointed by uncleanness that I went to was my hands before the food and I just traced my feet back to my table without washing. I just used hand sanitizer to...
