If you are reading reviews trying to decide it you would like to try The Bridge Inn, I strongly recommend that you do. A rare restaurant with a varied menu and all the items on it are excellent. The restaurant has a charm that you would expect from an old inn and its seemingly out in the middle of nowhere enhances that experience. There were four of us and we all took turns tasting each other's choices. First, the steamed pot stickers were excellent -- cooked perfectly and obviously homemade. The star of the appetizers was the Pear-Gorgonzola over Spinach salad with blackened chicken. Wow! I can't say enough good things about this salad -- especially how good the chicken was -- tender, and cooked and seasoned perfectly. My wife and I split the salad as an appetizer, and it was the perfect portion size for two people. For our entrees, we ordered the cheesesteak wrap, the chicken steak hoagie (with no Mayo), the crab cake platter, and the Prime Rib Flatbread. The crab cake was mostly crab with the perfect blend of seasoning, the prime rib flatbread was both impressive in portion size and flavor, and both the cheesesteak wrap, and the chicken cheesesteak hoagie were spot on. First, if you don't know this, you can tell a good cheesesteak immediately by what the restaurant calls it. If they call it a Philly Cheesesteak, order something else. But when they simply call it a steak or chicken sandwich -- it is going to be good (hint: this rule applies everywhere, including in Philadelphia). The roll was fresh, and the perfect Italian roll needed for a good steak sandwich and even though they don't mention it, the meat is fresh cut from the ribeye round -- you can just tell by the great taste of the meat. We were too full to try the desserts. Our server was Heidi who was friendly and attentive. She answered all of our questions with good humor. Finally, simple things make for a great customer experience -- we were impressed that Heidi told us right away the two items that were not available. How often - when ordering - we are told "sorry we are out of that" and we have to go back to the menu to find an alternative. A well-run restaurant with a good staff like the Bridge Inn doesn't let that happen. Kudos all around -- we...
Read moreSo I have to put this out there how upset we are about the management last night at dinner. We have gone there and sat at the bar and had good service and good bar food, but haven’t sat and had dinner there in years because their service was so horrible. We decided to try it again last night for my birthday dinner and again it was disappointing. The food was fantastic and the drinks were amazing. The waitress was very good, but that manager/owner still has not changed . First of all when I called to make a reservation I don’t think you should be telling me that there is an hour and a half limit and asked me if we can be done in that time frame? (they only serve dinner 4 to 8 PM ) And we get greeted at the door by him with no smile no welcome no nothing just shows us to our table and gives us menus. While during our meal( and I know it is an old building, but) a bat starts flying around our head and another table for quite a few minutes with nobody there doing anything to help. ( and believe me, we were making a noise and waving our hands to avoid the bat ) Finally, the bat finds a place behind the curtain and stays there. The manager comes over and says well sometimes they do get in from the chimney will just leave him there. I don’t think he’s going to be going anywhere and walks away without an apology or anything. A few minutes later, the bat decides to start flying around and swatting at our heads to the point where we can’t even sit on our seats anymore. Jimmy and Anthony then get up. Anthony takes his flannel jacket off and traps the bat in it and take it outside to let it go. As they walk back in the manager is standing right, there does not say a word no please no thank you I’m so sorry walks right past them and continues on his business. A lady from another table says wow you think somebody would say thank you or do something he looked at her and just turned his head. I am sorry, but I feel that we should have gotten some sort of apology or something or at least come over to our table and said thank you but nothing from him...
Read moreAlthough the food was decent and the server was attentive, I rate the restaurant a 3 star due to the following: --We had reservations for 6:00 and was asked if we would be out by 7:30 by the hostess. With that said.... --Our food wasn't even served until 7:20 yet we had to be out by 7:30. Needless to say, that did not happen. --Although Food was good and their menu had a large gluten free option on their menu. My biggest complaint is the fact I was literally DENIED a reservation for family coming in for a wedding. Yes, I have a very large group (16 people) and it is on a Friday night for a 6:00 seating, but I am making this reservation a MONTH in advance. I asked to speak to the manager as I spoke only to the hostess. I had to leave a note with the server to have the manager contact me. I was told I would be contacted the next day. Three days later and I still have not been contacted. This restaurant lost a HUGE opportunity to make some money. I will NEVER recommend nor frequent this restaurant ever again. Had I gotten a phone call from the manager, this would be an entire different review. It is an absolute shame that this restaurant won't accommodate my wedding party all because they wouldn't have time to turn the tables by 7:30! THEY CLOSE AT 8:00 pm! Remember, we weren't even served our food until 7:20! So.....whatever. Your loss. I could have brought so much business to their establishment. ...
