I really wanted to like this place. I've lived in Omaha all my life and have heard several rave reviews of Mama's pizza throughout the years. We visited on a Friday evening and it was busy, yet we found a table without much trouble. The first thing I noticed is that they must not pick anything up from the floors until closing time. Our table was clear however, there were dirty napkins and food all over the floor. Not just under our table but others as a well. It was pretty gross. We ordered an all meat and a cheese pie, along with fries. The fries arrived first and were decent. Not terrible or spectacular, bar fries if you will. The pizza arrived and looked delicious. Unfortunately it was incredibly bland. There wasn't any flavor in the crust, sauce, or even toppings. It tasted like browned burger in a pan. No seasoning or flavor was pronounced. The atmosphere was nice, margaritas were good as well. The overall cleanliness and bland pizza flavor made for a "meh" experience. I doubt we'll try it again with so many other delicious...
Read moreDecent pizza, lack luster service. I ordered a large thin crust pizza with 4 toppings, some cheese bread, and an order of buffalo wings. The pizza was not the best I have tasted, i was surprised how soggy the thin crust turned out and how bland the overall taste was. The cheese bread and the buffalo wings were pretty good, i would even go as far as to say they were better than bread or wings from Zio's and Pudgy's. The reason why i doubt i will return to Mama's is because of the service. One of my biggest pet peeves is business establishments greeting customers with "yes?" or "name?". Can i at least get a hello or hi? When i walked in to pick up my order, i stood by the cash register for 10mins while 4 different employees passed me with no offer to help. Finally a lady behind the counter comes over and says "name?" and proceeds to check me out. During the process i don't recall her making eye contact with me even once, she kept glancing off into the distance or looking down at the register. A smile...
Read moreI've been here several times, keep coming back. The hamburger pizza here is so good your hard pressed to order anything else. The service is good, and friendly - only real gripe here is that it might just be a bit too friendly. Sounds strange, I know, but they don't seem to have servers assigned to specific tables, so invariably when I'm here I'll get interrupted 4 or 5 times while I'm eating and asked if I want a refill, or if they can take something away from the table for me, etc. The thought is greatly appreciated, but when you have one person walk by and ask you that question, then a second person do the same within 5 minutes, then a couple minutes later a third with the same query... well it can be a bit overwhelming when your just trying to get a bite to eat. But all in all I do highly recommend the place, the food is very good and we've never had any other issues with...
