Time out used to be one of my favorite old school restaurant. I loved that place. My whole family practically grew up enjoying Time out. However after the recent events with the store closing and pandemic. I was patience to visit after I heard Time out reopen. So today stop in to get a favorite of my. The line started at the end of Evens St. It took 45 minutes to get to the parking lot. A nice young lady took my order from the car. Half way in the parking lot. The wait was too long for a average person on a lunch break. One hour to get my food in a pre-order drive threw. I truly don't understand why it took so long. I finally got to the pick up window. Paid ,drove home to find out they messed up my order. I asked for 2 slices of pecan pie. I received 1 slice of pie and a small fry. The fries were over cooked and super geasey. The chicken tasted different than I remember similar but different. The pie tasted store brought. And it was almost 30 dollars for a 4 wing combo and 3 piece and roll 2 slices of pie witch one I didn't receive. I tried to call all I got was a default voicemail no way to talk to anyone or leave a message. I won't be back. Too many other restaurants with better service, quality and price. Time out is nothing close to the way it used to...
ย ย ย Read moreI came for the fried chicken, an obviously perfected recipe that Time Out boasts. The no frills interior lead me to believe the food is their focus and the long line of drive thru customers supported that idea. I ordered at the window, perused the flyers on the community board, and headed out with my order of three pieces and a sweet roll. Napkins were kindly tucked into the fold of the takeout box and the nondescript paper bag shielded my treasure inside from prying eyes. I decided to eat at home, about a 10 minute drive away. The smell of savory umami filled my car's interior. I was worried the chicken skin would become sodden and gummy but the fry masters are aware of moisture problems beforehand. The birds were thoroughly cooked and balanced in moisture content. The brittle skin was very crunchy, almost like goldfish crackers while the meat tasted like a rotisserie hen. I used a Jamaican hot sauce at home to compliment their flavors and was thoroughly pleased. My favorite aspect was the lack of greasiness often found in most commercial fried chicken and a pleasant surprise overall. I'll be...

I ordered their two piece combo which includes two pieces of fried chicken, a side of coleslaw, french fries, roll and a drink. The cost was very reasonable, $6.68 after tax (September 2013), for the amount of food I received.
Overall I was very happy with my order. While I don't get fried chicken often, I found it to be very fresh and flavorful. The sides and fries were also excellent. Their customer service was also great.
The combo ended up being a little too much food for me, but if I visit again in the future, I'll just order their chicken and a roll off the menu and add any sides ร la carte.
In conclusion, if you like fried chicken or want to try a different/local restaurant, I would highly recommend making the trek up to North Omaha and visiting Time out. I doubt that you'll be...
