Cajun Kitchen — Restaurant in Omaha

We decided to try Cajun Kitchen after seeing an almost nightly line of cars waiting to order in the drive-thru lane. It was no different tonight. We pulled in as car #7 and ultimately there were 5 more behind us. The line moved fairly fast ... I guess depending on how big the order was. We ordered a full slab of ribs; a large fried catfish dinner with greens and fried okra; a smothered 2 pork chop dinner with red beans and rice and mac'n cheese; a large Jambalaya; a large spaghetti with a roll; and an addtl 2 sides of red beans and rice and a mac'n cheese. Our order was $71 and some change. Everything was very good --- especially the catfish dinner! I don't think you can eat inside ... maybe due to Covid?? But we like to eat at home. The dinners were large and hot and fresh. We were given plastic forks, napkins and a ton of hot sauce packets. We will definitely be going back because they also have fried chicken, burgers, fried pork chop sandwiches, french fries, onion rings, etc....

Important info: You can pick up call-in orders at the front window. Just ring the doorbell when you arrive.

I placed a call-in for 12 piece catfish nuggets and fries. The breading was still crisp when I picked my order up. It was seasoned well, and the spices were enough to just get kissed with heat. If you prefer hotter, they have plenty of hot sauce packets to customize to your tastes. The meat inside the breading left some room for improvement. The texture might have been off-putting for those who are prone to sensory issues while eating. The fries were crinkle cut and surprisingly still crisp and warm by the time I ate them.

The service was fantastic. The dude who took my call was nice, and the guy who gave me the food was nice. My only suggestion here is to let call-ins know they can go to the front window for pickup before they wait 15+ minutes in line.

Overall, I'd like to try it again if I have the opportunity. And I think it is worth trying if...

This is definitely one of those hole in the wall spots thar have good fish! The fish in my dinner was fried perfectly. The green beans were ok...they must've been canned green beans because they definitely tasted like it. The mac n cheese was pretty good but you will need to add some salt. My son had the 2 piece chicken strips. They were fried perfectly. He also had the red beans and rice and green beans. The red beans and rice were good but my son did not like the green beans. Perhaps it was because they were canned; he's used to fresh or frozen veggies. Overall the food was good and I'll definitely go back. I'd like to see them fix their drive thru. I drive a truck and the turn to get to the drive thru window is impossible to make without reversing and...
