We waited almost an hour for our food, there were only 3 other tables of people when we ordered. I ordered the filet (which is the cheap bacon wrapped pieces you can get from the store for $6). I ordered it medium, which is pink in the middle. Finally received the steak and it was charred, very well done and dry. The cook came out and called it medium well and debated me and was very rude about it, I was very taken back and really didn’t know what to say. But she said she would buy me another and recook it! Buy me another? We were thinking that was a guilt trip so I agreed. Then we waited another 40 min for the second steak to come out and in the meantime asked how much longer and the waitress kept telling me it was on the grill, which wasn’t true, you don’t cook a small steak for 30 min. Come to find out it’s true, the owner makes them pay. Shame on whoever that is! I couldn’t imagine working for someone like that. No wonder the wait staff and cook was so grumpy. When I finally got the second steak, put it in a to go box and threw it away when I got home, I was afraid it was spit on or something. I have NEVER done that before, but that was the vibe I got from that place. So I ended paying 16.95 for a baked potato. Plus my husband whom in 18 years we have been married, I have never seen get sick to his stomach and he was in the bathroom all the night, he ordered a burger. That place will never get my business again. Bad service, bad vibe.
In response to your response and question: We were there Saturday September 28th, 5:00pm left at 7:05 Yes that is how long it took to get a second steak, 2 hrs! The lady cook and 2 waitresses convinced me that the cook would have to pay for the steak. After waiting a total of 2 hrs for a steak the waitress keep telling me the second steak was on the grill for the last 30 min (maybe longer) I just said nevermind we are ready to leave because the other 3 people in our party were done eating and had been for quite awhile. The waitress brings my ticket and charged us for the steak that I still had not got. I questioned it and she told me again that the steak was almost done and I could get it in a to go box and that is I did not take it the cook would end up having to pay for two steaks and she said “I guess she (the cook) could take it home and eat it since she is having to pay for it”. My friend then asked another waitress that was standing there if it was true that they had to pay and the second waitress said yes. So then I felt guilty and waited another 10 min for the steak. Please keep in mind this was the 4th time we were told the cook would have to pay for it. So if it’s not true your staff are quite the liars and you might want to find out why they would say that. Something is really wrong there. Our waitress seemed stressed and not in a good mood out just greeting us, and when the cook came out she was loud and upset right from the beginning, and very offended I did not like the charred steak. (Too bad I didn’t take pic) maybe that is just how she is but I was not going to eat the 2nd steak. In my mind...who knows after that fiasco. Also your cook told me she couldn’t cook the filet medium, because filets are supposed to be cooked medium rare to rare, but she would “try” and could not guarantee. I am quite aware of what a tenderloin filet is, it is my regular go to at a steak house or restaurant that has it on the menu and in my many years of ordering it I have never had a problem getting the filet...
Read moreUpdate: I have seen and heard the reviews that are less than stellar but have never had any major issue until today. We ordered a patty melt minus onions and texas toast substituted for rye. (Yes, I realize she ordered a glorified cheeseburger lol). It took quite some time to receive our food and then everything went downhill from there. The bill for hers was the cost of the patty melt PLUS 2 side orders charged. We expected to be charged for the fries but when I questioned the additional "side order" fee, I was told it was for the texas toast substitution...using that logic, I should have gotten a discount as we did not use their onions! (Sarcasm) I ordered a small chicken fried steak with salad and baked potato. My potato was so cold the cheese didn't even pretend to melt so back it went to the kitchen. Finally get my potato returned as I am mostly finished with my CFS. When I looked at the ticket, I also was charged a side order fee. I questioned why and I reminded her that my entree came with 2 sides and was told "that is just how she does it". Not sure who "she" is....if it is Ms Jerry or not. Everything and I domean everything is delicious, I would like to see the chicken salad go back to being fried chicken strips but I understand it being cost effective so I don't mind it too much, the onions that come on it should decibel be quarter or at least half moon size, now on to the review... This place is amazing, the service is on point and wait staff is on point their ability to tend to each person like royalty always gets me coming back, and don't even get me started on them yeast rolls my good lord you ain't loved to you had them.. it is always clean and the food is for a lack of a better word.. perfect!!! I am going to be going there very often, and I usually get a place on the dock in the corner the smell of the flowers and the cross breeze always makes me feel like I'm enjoying a wonderful meal outside, please please please tip these wonderful people they really truly work very hard to make your experience a truly blessed one.. jeanna, you and your staff is amazing thank you all for doing all that you do.
