First off it is nice to have this little hidden place in the heart of DTLA, with that said it has its ups and downs.
The positive is that the decor is beautiful, the parking is ample, the food is delicious, and the wine is amazing. Really that is all I need to make the small trip out there worth it. The surprising factor was their restaurant.
It is pretty close to cafeteria style ordering, but they take it to your table. Depending on what you order it might already be prepared, or it will be a few minutes until it gets to you.I have not had a single bad thing there. The downside is it can get very pricey easily.
Now, why only 3 stars? The management and staff across the board are not very welcoming and warming. We went there for a friend's birthday party. They screwed up her group reservation (and it was a large group, over 20) AND they were kicking us out rather forcefully. I understand that workers want to get home and start clearing things out for the day, but literally taking your food away from you way before you finished and shutting the lights off on us. That is horrifically rude. With that I can only give it 2 stars. It should be 5, but if the staff is bad then there isn't much I can say that...
Read moreFlies, flies and more flies!!! First time to this Ontario location (forgot this place was surrounded by dairy farms - cows). Upon arrival noticed construction, dust and mud going into their parking lot (not disclosed). My wife went inside to get a bottle of white wine. Was given a couple of glasses, so she asked if they had an opener? The lady twisted the top (my wife didn't notice) & she was charged an extra $8 for opening & corkage. I ordered pizza outside which was good. The band of two were also good. However, while singing they too were distracted by the flies even mentioning it through their performance while swatting them away. You have to cover your food and drinks as flies came in swarms touching down everywhere. The establishment should at least try to mitigate this by installing insect zappers or other insect deterrents. BTW, most of the wine they sell are not from their own winery. We had to leave as it was terribly uncomfortable having flies...
Read moreMy friends and I had the most delightful; absolutely the best experience yesterday for my birthday! The construction was going on out front, which was unfortunate for the Winery, but it didnât take away from the kindness and all the things that make this Winery so fun! They have the best gift shop!! I havenât been for several Clear years so it was a real treat and we had the wine tasting and charcuterie. We tasted five wines that my friend had selected ahead of time! VANESSA was our wine host at the table and she went above and beyond to tell us all about the history of the family! She was the sweetest, she had such great knowledge. She ann all our questions and made sure that we didnât feel rushed. The charcuterie was wonderful. She told us what to eat with which wine! I wish she couldâve just sat at the table with us. She was just so joyful and truly loved her job!! The team members were helpful and the manager was wonderful!! I canât wait...
