Candy's Place Cafe — Restaurant in Opa-locka

While traveling and using public transportation, the city bus dropped us off down the road from Candy's Place and the connecting bus was running late. We walked down the street and discovered Candy's Place purely by accident. We originally went inside to have one beer and walk back to the bus stop. Waited at the bus stop again but decided to skip the bus and go back to Candy's Place because it had such a positive impact on us and we didn't want to leave. Candy's Place is so nice and welcoming inside and as soon as we met the owner and customers we knew right away this place is very special. We spent the rest of the day and evening there, met new friends and everybody made us feel so welcome and at home. Maribel, the owner, is an amazing and beautiful soul...she made us feel so welcome and her Platano Fritos are amazing and her Cuban coffee is absolutely the BEST coffee I have ever had. To Maribel and your local customers...thank you for inviting us in as part of your neighborhood family, we will never forget your kindness and generosity. Our experience was so memorable, we are definitely coming back to see you. If we were local, we'd be there every day. Candy's Place is clean and neat with a warm ambiance. There is karaoke on the weekends, pool table, juke box, breakfast and lunch is served right there from the kitchen...there's no need to go anywhere else, it's home...
