Northwest Seafood has been a total gem for their fired food within the Opa Locka, Miami Gardens, and surrounding neighborhoods. They have been through thick and thin, and you can definitely tell by the charmingly weathered building. So without further ado, let's jump right in!
Appearance: 0 out of 5. Let's be real, people don't come here for the fancy decor. This place could definitely use a MAJOR, and I mean MAJOR, makeover.
Customer service 5 out of 5. Like I mentioned earlier, this place has stood the test of time, and it shows in the way they treat their loyal customers. The staff knows everyone by name and order! Plus, they always have a smile on their faces 😊 and provide top-notch service to everyone.
Food 5 out of 5: This is not your average seafood joint. They offer a wide range of options, from conch and shrimp to frog legs and fish. And guess what? They'll clean, season, and cook your order to perfection! The talented cooks in the back know exactly what they're doing.
Pricing 5 out of 5: When you compare their prices to other meat and seafood markets in the area, they come out on top (trust me, I've personally compared their conch prices to Sunshine Market).
Overall, if you're on the hunt for delicious food at wallet-friendly prices, then this is the...
Read moreDecent restaurant and fish market. Depending on the time of the day that you go, there could be a bit of a wait. The staff is a hit and miss sometimes because they're taking orders for the market and restaurant side at the same time. So I know that that can be hectic at times especially if people are holding up the line because they don't know what they want.
You pick the seafood you want and tell them how you want it cooked. They also have combos with various types of seafood; fish, shrimp, conch and fries for example. The prices for the seafood and fries are reasonable. I do not recall if they have sides other than fries. If they are cooking it for you, there is an up charge on top of how much the seafood cost per lb or however much you get. I believe it's only a $1 though or something to that effect.
The fresh fish here is good. I think it is a little pricey compared to some places that I frequent on a regular. Not a huge difference but a difference. I think that it just boils down to preference and where you are when you want some seafood. At least for me. But again it can be packed in there so you have to time it right or you will be waiting.
Parking is non-existent. You have to park on the side or create parking. That is a little hectic. But other than that this...
Read moreAs a local born and rain in Miami Dade County Florida, I grew up on this place to get some of the fresh seafood to cook, as well as some of the best tasting seafood that was cooked. I visited this place today for the first time in a long time and I can tell you that the quality of this restaurant, in every way has hit the ground, the new owners are untidy, unfriendly and unwelcome, especially towards black customers and workers. I witnessed today the Hispanic Female supervisor on duty repeatedly yell at the Black employees as though they were beneath her as well as her constantly ignoring me asking her the same question. Wow, she only wanted to attend to Spanish customers. I told one of the employees maybe she doesn’t speak English the employee told me no English very well this is something she does on the daily basis to the Black customers. Furthermore, I ordered conch, shrimp and fries And had what was the nastiest meal of my life. The food was so disgusting and distasteful that I threw it out of the window on the way home. I would definitely discourage anyone from doing any business with this establishment. Furthermore, the lady had a nasty attitude and refused to answer me when I asked her. What type of conch did they have reaming at another worker tell him it’s...
