Michael and Mom's — Restaurant in Orange Grove

We went on a Sunday morning, kinda late...around 10-11 am & it was last April 2022. It seemed like they were doing some remodeling, as there was only bare cement flooring. When we walked in, there weren't many people eating, only 4 or 5 tables, but we stood there by the door, unacknowledged, longer than was comfortable, then were told to seat ourselves. My husband and I sat at the table for another 10 minutes before anyone stopped to wait on us. This was very frustrating since there were several servers around but no one would make any eye contact or say anything. We were just fixing to walk out when someone stopped & waited on us.

The food was pretty good, our order was brought to the table correctly & our server was very nice, funny & down to Earth. She made the whole experience worthwhile and is the only reason we might try it again.

Not too long after we sat down we noticed they started pushing a bunch of tables together for a big party, maybe 20 people that showed up not too much later. They were some of the absolute loudest people! I wouldn't say they were rude, but they sure didn't show any concern for any of the other diners, which was miserable for us since we chose a table up next to where they sat.

This didn't have anything to do with the restaurant & staff, but I'm guessing that the bare cement flooring didn't help the noise level at all.

But, it would've been really nice if the wait staff had been more welcoming when we first arrived & I really wished someone might have warned us about that big party (which seemed like a regular thing) so we could've at least moved our table down to the lower level away from them. That was such a miserable situation for us that we didn't hang around for any of those yummy looking desserts, which was part of why we went there. My head hurt so bad & hubs's tinnitus was driving him crazy, so we got up and got the heck out of there as soon...

Bad owners and bad food. Worst establishment ever, owners are rude an mean to their own employees. The servers can BE nice. I notice the cookers are always in and out the building smoking. I doubt they wash their hands. Been here plenty of time but I will no longer give them my service after today. Some lady came in yelling at a server about her step son. None of the employees told that lady to leave. They all just stood there watching enjoying themselves with this. I’ve always heard bad things going on here, it’s Very unprofessional! It’s a very unhealthy establishment. The ladies dnt mop or clean tables correctly. Food is always cold. Price is way to high from store bought PIES, not homemade tortillas, beans, pies or cake, etc. These men that cook wear the same clothes just about everyday. The workers can be rude but just so sloppy. It’s not right that the waitress have to pay for a customer plate if it’s sent back! They will force a worker to quit their job so they can hire someone else! Because supposedly they’re to broke to afford more help. Saw with my own eyes! It just doesn’t make sense. Dnt go eat there and waste your money for Bad Food...

Today: 8/14/22 Well I gave it another shot you can see my last 2 reviews below. The service has not changed. Not only were 3 of them standing at the registered looking at their phone when I reported that I had a bone in my food (shredded turkey with dressing) at 1st the young lady was pleasant and took it back to the kitchen. She returned and told me it's just a bone and that she dosen't cooked it or make it she just serves it and wLked away. I guess when there i are not a lot of choices in a small town you can be rude to the customers.

Today: 02/27/21 gave it a year hoping things improved well sort of service was better but breakfast was horrible... out of there link susage the sub'd the sausage patties it tasted old and frozen the hash browns weren't cooked all way and were soggy.. no flover

Last year 2020: I have to say my last visit was a little disappointing as far as service goes. They were not busy and the young man who now seems to be waiting tables is extremely slow. And even at some Point seems to ignore us as he walked by and we attempted to get...
