Don't go here. I believe she was the owner but me and my husband ordered two drinks and two desserts. My daughter does not like Cubanissimo and she said she was going to orcutt bakery. We got our drinks and dessert and my daughter walked in shortly after with a box from Orcutt bakery. Those of you that know Orcutt bakery, the box only says their name on top of it, My daughter had a box with cupcakes and a cookie. My daughter was eating only a cookie she was halfway done eating it when the person I believe was the owner said there's no outside food allowed in the establishment then when she thought twice about what she had said to us she said we could go out to the patio. I said that I guess she doesn't support other small businesses and that with this economy she should be wanting to keep customers. So we got are stuff and walked out. There's no place in there that says no outside food or drink. She should have it posted in her establishment So basically we were kicked out and we left but I went back to Orcutt bakery to purchase more pastries to support their business I have walked in plenty of times to Orcutt bakery with drinks from Cubanissimo and Orcutt bakery has never said anything to me I won't be back and neither will the rest of my family. I have a very large family and we used to all go there. I've even had catering from them so they lost a customer all because she wanted to be petty about a cookie that no one else could see. This part was not originally part of my review but since someone told me the response to my review had changed I took a look apparently now the owner has put a no outside food sign on the patio and front door that's great but he should have stated that they just put them up after I made this review and not make it seem like the signs have always been there I have attached a photo that shows no sign at the time of my visit and if you look at past photos from other customers it will show the same as mine that they put the sign up...
Read moreI went onto Cubanissimo after being referred by the Hotel clerk at the Radisson. I was dying to have Cuban food and couldn't wait to get there. Unfortunately, it was a Monday night and there was not a single soul in the restaurant. That was a bad sign. From my experience, that is always an indication to run for the hills. But because the staff was nice. I stayed and ordered the main entree chicken dish, but was told I had to order the beans separately. That didn't make any sense. Beans should always come with the meal. The next thing that happened was the meal was brought out to me in 5 minutes, which means it was not cooked specifically for me, just re-heated from left overs. Because of the cold weather, the restaurant was freezing so it was hard to enjoy the ambiance. Although the background music was Cuban, I was unable to enjoy the vibe because there was no vibe. No one in the restaurant looked Cuban so what I experienced when I visited Cuba was missing. Even having a person of Latin American descent working in the restaurant would have given me a sense of connection to Cuba. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious, even though it was comprised of left overs. What I realized is that the food was not piping hot, which means it tasted like it was micro- waved. Despite that, the restaurant staff is very friendly, If you are dying to have good Cuban food,...
Read moreI want to start off by saying I had high hopes for this restaurant being that I’m Dominican, it’s the closest thing to Dominican cuisine in California. I ordered Puerco Frito and Pollo con papa, at $17.99 each price point the serving size is not satisfying for the fact that it should include beans as those are a staple in every Latin American household, also at that price point things should be separate that way you can ensure you get the same serving every time and if not it should be priced as a deal (cheaper price) because you can order everything separately for the same price? AND you wouldn’t have greasy rice. The pollo con papas had two pieces of potato’s and was acidic. The puerco frito lacked flavor, all you taste is pork. That all was a big turn off. Grease from the pork was saturated in the rice. The mark up is hindering the potential in this place but I believe they have great potential and their coffees are good if I had to say something is good and end this on a positive. I won’t be...
