Paddy Joe's - Oregon, OH — Restaurant in Oregon

Went with my husband yesterday. We had never eaten here and went out of our way to try Paddy Joes. The server tried to sit us as the odd, long table pushed against a window which would have required us to sit next to each other looking out a window overlooking the parking lot. We asked if we could sit at a table we passed and she had no problem with that. My husband and I each ordered a different chicken sandwich. His came out fine and I thought mine came out correctly. I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich and I knew it had an onion ring on it. As I took a bite I realized that the sauce that was on it was bbq and not Buffalo (the whole sandwich was wrong, I just didn’t realize it). I am not one to send food back and would have just eaten it, but I didn’t like the taste of the bbq sauce. The server graciously took it back to get me what I ordered. This meant my husband was eating (he had to, he couldn’t wait and eat cold food) while I waited. He was done eating when my food arrived. It was a Buffalo chicken sandwich, but not what was described on the menu. The menu states it should have an onion ring, instead this one had bacon, which was not supposed to be on it. I actually do not like bacon but love onion rings, so this was disappointing, but there was no way I was going to say anything (too many horror stories about what they do to food). So I ate while my husband waited for me. $12.95 is too much to pay for menu roulette. It made for a not great night out. Good was fine, nothing special. Not planning on going out of ourcto head back. My nephew suggested Paddy Joes for lunch after a session @ Towers - I had my doubts as none of the Mexican restaurants in that location never did very well. Boy was I wrong! I had the wings with the Bob Marley sauce - tasty! - a just right spicy with a jerk type glaze. I then had lunch there last Friday with 4 others - they all enjoyed it. Our church (Crosspoint Community) has a diner group that I pick a different venue every month, I decided to make reservations for 18 this Monday. I arrived early and the parking lot was jammed! I thought that I had requested all lower tables but they had us at high tops (an older group) - a table of ten opened up and the servers pleasantly got 10 of us switched to the lower tables - great job ladies. To a person we were Very Impressed with the variety and quality of the food. The artichoke/spinach dip appetiser was soo yummy. Our pastor had the Junk salad and it is enormous. The burgers looked old school - next time that is what I'm ordering!! I had the New Yorker - 10oz pastrami and corned beef with all the fixing - including sauerkraut.. The orders came out timely and they were HOT - sometimes this is a problem at other places. My advice - get there early as there was up to an hour wait - Like the old ALKA Seltzer commercial from the early 70's would announce - Try it...

Good food, atmosphere, and customer service! Let's talk food: We got the New Yorker and the Sausage Hoagie came with homemade chips and we ordered side of fries. The New Yorker had great flavor. It is a large sandwich, so be hungry. We did get the coleslaw on the side instead of on it. I am from NY and this is something I definitely would get there, so pretty good. The Sausage Hoagie was good. Flavor spot on! The saurkraut that was suppose to be on the sandwich was almost none existant. Had to look to see if there was any on it, no flavor of that . The chips that came with it were ok, nothing spectacular, added salt and pepper to it and they were ok. The coleslaw looked like I was going to be disappointed, but was not. It is a really good coleslaw . I put it on my Sausage Hoagie and it definitely made the sandwich better because you really could not tell there was saurkraut on it. The fries were ok, again nothing special. Though I do think the grease may have needed to be changed because of the after flavor of the fries. The overall impression of Paddy Joe's is very relaxing.
