If I could rate the hotel just based on the staff I would give it a full five stars. The staff was very pleasant, happy and helpful. Breakfast area was clean, and the person who made and kept the breakfast items was very busy getting the food organized, making sure there was plenty of it, and keeping the area clean. Breakfast deserved 4 stars, coffee wasn't great and I think not refreshed after morning. But there was plenty to choose from, eggs were delicious, waffles, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, pastry items etc. The menu did not change during our two day stay. She was also very kind. The rooms are small, the pillows are extremely small for bed pillows--they were more like pillows for a sofa inside of pillow cases. The beds however were clean and somewhat comfortable. The microwave, fridge and mirrors, were streaked and not clean. The furniture was dusty. I found a dead bug (at least it was dead) on the bathroom floor. The door to my room did not always lock once closed and I had to keep opening it and pulling it shut to make sure it closed. The pool area is not well kept, It is extremely humid and uncomfortable in the pool room, and the pool water itself is not warm and the water is very cloudy. The pool room smells like they just add chlorine to it and do not balance it properly. You can not see the bottom of the pool floor due to the cloudy nature of it. The tile floor surrounding the pool is extremely slippery and you need not be running to slide around so make sure you wear flip flops when not in it. The carpet really could use a professional cleaning, as it is worn and dirty. The hotel itself seems to be in a safe area however the entrances other then the front entrance do not require the use of a key card to open. If your passing through for travel it is an ok place to rest your head, but if your bringing your family and plan on spending any time at the hotel itself, I feel they could do...
Read moreRUN. DO NOT STOP. The worst experience I ever had in 70 years of traveling. We had to call the cops. My husband and I got in bed and the running overhead started. I tired to ignore it but then the throwing stuff against the floor started. I went to front and asked the young guy to ask the group of about 6 kids and 3 adults to stop running and screaming and playing and he did 3 times. But they wouldn't stop. It started at 10 pm and by 11 i asked for a refund so we could leave the hotel and was told I could get one until Monday this was friday. I was assured that the people were being asked to leave. Went back to my room and again the running started but louder. This time it was being done because they were angry but not leaving and no body was going to make them. at midnight We packed out bags and asked for a refund and was leaving when the group came down with their bags. They were pissed and loud., Yelling that no white woman was running them off and no cops either. Another worker had came and told them to leave but it was pretty clear they weren't going. The other guy said the hotel lets them swim in the pool sometimes and they always refuse to leave. They were basically taking over the hotel. My husband told me to go back to the room because it was too dangerous to be out there. We barricaded ourselves in the room with all our luggage and chairs and stayed awake afraid to leave until daylight. We saw the cops come but it was too dangerous to leave at that point because they were probably outside. The breakfast was cold eggs, cold gravy, frozen biscuits and raw sausage. Do not stop what ever you do. It was a wasted...
Read moreHotel was dirty from the time the double doors opened. The luggage cart was appalling to the point where we almost canceled the reservation standing out front. The room was one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in. The coffee pot in the room was not clean, yet there was not coffee offered in the lobby in the evening. First time ever, that water and coffee was unavailable in a Comfort Inn. The bed behind the pillows was so full of dirt, dust, and hair it was unreal. The window sill and around the window was filthy. The reception on the TV was terrible and fuzzy at best. The bath mat was just thrown in the bathtub and the toilet moved every time you sat on it. The toilet also was leaking internally so it ran every 20-30 seconds. The bed was fairly comfortable, but after viewing the laundry area many times it was obvious that the comforters were not being washed or changed. Breakfast consisted of dried out brown eggs, watered down juice, and a dirty waffle maker. There was so much waffle stuck to it, that you could only get about 1/2 a waffle out of it. This was the first really negative experience that I have had at a Choice Hotel. I will never stay at this location again and am just praying that I didn't bring home any critters from the filthy stay. When checking out, we were stopped in the hall by a staff that said "checking out" and when I replied yes, she held out her hand for the keys. We got no "thanks for staying, or how was your stay." Simply took the keys and checked us off the clipboard she was carrying. Not a pleasant stay from...
