I don't typically write reviews, however, I had an extremely uncomfortable experience tonight. I would like to add that I am from out of state but am here for a few months for work. I would not leave a review for a one time stop unless I felt it was necessary.
It was clearly very busy both inside and out. There were two younger guys working the front, clearly working hard. I asked for one of their names (because they were working hard and very nice) and it was Seren and the other guy had longer curly hair and he was a bit shorter. I may be mistaken, but I believe Seren was helping the other employee read the orders and make sure they were correct before they were taken to customers. Seren did a great job with helping his coworker, taking orders and also running out food.
If an employee has difficulty reading I think that it would be appropriate to have an aid or an employee that is able to help him without also being the one in charge of also taking orders and running food out. He should absolutely have support when doing his job because he did his best, but it was clear that Tyler was talking to him like he was incapable and made him feel embarrassed.
TYLER (I asked for his name), this employee immediately made me and my friend feel uncomfortable by how he was treating the two in the front. He was saying extremely degrading things to Seren and the other employee such as "I lose brain cells every time you do that" "I swear I made 8 of these and they just keep disappearing" "it's clearly right in front of you." Overall rude comments, rolling his eyes, just staring at them with a terrible look, and making them more flustered rather then helping them. I have never felt so uncomfortable or angry seeing how someone blatantly disrespects their coworkers in front of customers and talks to them like they are below them.
There was a kid in the drive thru who for 70% of the time was sitting with his back against the window swinging a towel around. He could have easily helped as he sat there the entire time. Tyler seemed to have zero issue with this.
I quietly and nicely told Tyler that as a customer that watched how he treated his coworkers, I was extremely uncomfortable. To which he shook his head and said "you don't want to do that" and proceeds to tell his friend he was "just telling them to do their job" to which I told him he wasn't and that he was being degrading and rude the entire time and it was terrible to watch. A customer stopped me and told me that she wishes someone would have done this for her when she worked at this exact location before, because of how she was treated. I also watched and several ice creams were not made and customers asked why it was taking so long, with Tyler acting as if it were the two guys in the front's fault. Tyler and his buddy were the ones not making the correct ones.
I do not know if reviews are truly read by the owner or if there is a generalized response to everyone, but I hope that it is read. Tyler created an uncomfortable environment for the customers as well as his coworkers. I would hope that regardless of how busy and stressful the place is, the manager doesn't allow a literal bully to keep working. Read moreThis place is a joke. The girl in drive thru was completely rude to me from the order screen to the window. She slammed the window in my face in the middle of my sentence not once but twice. Mind you this is all over a $.50 ranch. Then when I go in to complain to the so called GM she is to busy telling me to get out of her store and how I should have talked to her. I am sorry, your the GM not a therapist that tells people how to think feel and act. I then asked her for corporate and she says look it up online. Then another employee from the back yells out oh cry about it..... Are we serious right now DQ. This place needs to be gutted and everyone replaced....
