Friday night at Palazzo Di Bocce is a pleasant experience. Even for a Friday night it wasn't over crowded and noisy allowing for an enjoyable dinner together and some good conversation.
The ambiance of Palazzo is inviting and relaxing allowing for a more carefree attitude. The staff are all friendly and at no point do you feel like you are in an overly upscale restaurant for the rich and famous, but the experience is elevated enough for a nice evening out. Our server Janelle was friendly, helpful with the menu, and had a great sense of humor. Her service was great as she was around to take care of our needs but not overbearing. On top of the other staff pitches in to address immediate needs as they see them arise.
Having been to Palazzo for a couple work parties and for dinner as well the experience has been great every time. The food has been good to excellent every time.
This trip for us featured a draft beer and lemonade to drink (highly recommended if you don't like it too sweet) calamari and bruschetta, lamb chops and ravioli promodori.
The calamari is good and large pieces, but may be a bit salty for some. The bruschetta was also good as well and if you like goat cheese give it a try.
I ordered the clam chowder along with the main and it is quite good, it does not have the seafood taste many chowders get that aren't of good quality.
The lamb chops came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The portion size was great for the price and the plate as a whole tasted amazing. Nothing I would change.
The Ravioli was excellent as well and included on the plate was sausage. Highly recommended for ravioli fans, and again, a great portion size.
For dessert we had the cannoli and tiramiso. The cannoli is recommended by the cannoli love and the tiramisu portion is large and I thought it to be well done.
If you have a taste for Italian dishes I believe Palazzo is the best in the immediate area I have been to and think the experience overall is worth the trip. Of course, if you want to get a game in, that is...
Read moreI usually like this place, the service is good and the food decent. A little expensive, but when it is just you going with a party of friends, it does not add up that quickly.
Last night was completely different. We decided to give the place a try with our two children. I guess they were very busy because of a concert at the palace, even though the place was not even half full when we were seated. We were warned it would be slow so took it in stride. Drinks and bread were prompt.
When we ordered I emphasized that my daughter and I were dairy free. ( My daughter is 23 months) So we figured out what was safe - bowl of pasta with red sauce and steamed veggies. I ordered basically the same thing but also had side salad. It quickly became evident the waitress did not care about anything being dairy free. The salad showed up with cheese, the veggie was covered in butter and I am sure that pasta had something on it. My daughter was up all night crying.
On top of that my son spilled his pop. It happens. We wiped it up and then waiting until someone was available. We all got new napkins but NO ONE wiped up the ice that was melting in the middle of our table, dripping on our laps and the floor. I know kids are not always easy at restaurants but sometimes we need to go out. Both of them are well behaved and polite and we tip especially well with kids. We even tipped well on our $80 bill last night with poor service.
They have lost me as a customer. It is one thing to ignore an adult's issues with Dairy and another a small child's. I know there is some risk when you go out, but I really thought they would take care of us at the Palazzo. I would not go here if you have any...
Read moreAlright kiddos, sit on down and let me tell about the torturous experience I had here. So I'm your typical guy, you know a Syrian refugee, sold his kids to the man helping him cross the border and I get to this country (which if I had to review the country I'd rate it 5/10) and I'm looking for some nice grub after witnessing my father be tortured by bashar al-assad himself. And what do I stumble upon? Precisely this "restaurant" if that's what you can even call it. I mean, first of all there was a 20 minute wait line! Are you kidding me?! I didn't even have to wait that long when i crossed from Syria over to some other middle eastern country that ends with "istan". Second of all, the food was horrible, I ordered Ravioli expecting to receive the Formuoli only to be fooled by spongebob squareitalian. But besides not getting the krabby patty secret recipe, the ravioli was harder than papa john when he sees he daddy! and to be quite honest with you, I'd rather eat the wet garbage soaked in propane that I had to eat as a refugee than eat this mess. The worst thing I ever had to eat as a refugee was a my pet cats rectum marinated for several months in arsenic and liquid mercury with just a hint of the bubonic plague. However, the worst thing I had at this dump was their salmon. 0/10 Would not...
