I have a friend who works here and he hasn’t had many good things to say about the owner/management. I am posting this on his behalf after experiencing the restaurant myself. It looks great and everything is very showy but that’s about where the positives end. The owners had told the employees that they would be paid for training and from what I’ve been told that was a lie. Every time the employees asked about training pay the management was dodgy about any questions concerning it. Their scheduling is atrocious and they pick favorites and leave the ones with limited availability as ā€œbackupsā€ with 0 hours a week unless someone calls out. The opening was clearly rushed and they did not give their employees enough time to prepare. When I went in a week or so ago the poor girl making sushi by herself during a rush was struggling while her coworker that was supposed to be on prep with her was chatting away with the guy on the grill. The food is also super expensive for the portions and quality they seem to pander to customers who they can scrape a few extra bucks out of. The food was good but I don’t see myself eating there again.(I reposted this because they deleted it, also deleted the other girls who used to work there and left a similar review). to your response it’s not about a ā€œSuper Bowl trophyā€??? That’s a lame excuse for poor management. It’s about right vs wrong and it’s wrong to tell your employees they will be paid for training when they weren’t. It’s wrong to ignore your employees when they ask why they are not being scheduled. It’s wrong to blatantly lie and deceive people who are taking a chance working for you. Also it wasn’t ā€œtryoutsā€ the employees are hired on and working hours for your business for free essentially. You can try to save face all you want but people will see through the flashy facade of your business sooner or later. Good luck and take criticism and do better instead of deleting bad reviews and trying to weasel your way out of...

We had dinner at Benji's Sushi and Grill in Orland, upon the recommendation of a local gym owner we met at Aktivfit Gym. Our experience was exceptional from the moment we walked in. The staff were extremely friendly and promptly got us seated, making us feel very welcome.

The menu offered a variety of options, including several sushi choices and Mongolian grill bowls. Each sushi roll we tried was extremely fresh, showcasing the quality of the ingredients. The variety on the menu ensured there was something for everyone, and we thoroughly enjoyed every dish we ordered.

Overall, our experience at Benji's Sushi and Grill was one of a kind. We look forward to returning, especially once they obtain their liquor license, which will surely enhance an already great dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone in the Orland area looking for excellent sushi and a...

I recently had the pleasure of being served by an exceptional waitress, Melanie, whose service truly stood out. From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with a warm, genuine smile and a welcoming attitude. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive; she provided insightful recommendations and answered all our questions with ease. Throughout the meal, her attention to detail was remarkable—she was attentive without being intrusive, and she anticipated our needs before we even asked. Her efficiency and grace made the dining experience seamless and enjoyable. It's clear that she takes great pride in her work and genuinely cares about her customers. This level of service is a rare find and made our visit unforgettable. I can't recommend her highly enough! We will be back for more great service and...

Benji's in Orland, CA, is a true hidden gem! The sushi is absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. One of the best perks for families is that kids under 12 get a free Mongolian bowl meal, which comes with a rice duck, and salad. It’s a great offer that makes the meal even more enjoyable for the whole family. Our waitress, Bri, was outstanding—so patient and kind with the kids, making sure everyone had a great experience. This is our second time dining at Benji's, and once again, the food and service have exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for families or a casual night out. We highly recommend Benji's for anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

This place isn't bad, but it isn't good either. The rice was undercooked, so it made the rolls less enjoyable. One of the rolls was made with way too much rice. Although I liked the spicy mayo, it's a lot hotter than one would expect spicy mayo to be. Keep that in mind if you are sensitive to spice. The bowl was good. I don't recommend adding the asparagus, though. They don't cut the bottoms off. I had to spit it out. Nice looking place. It's clean and the staff is great. Jenny was my server, and she's wonderful. I paid $74 for one bowl and 2 rolls before the tip. For me personally, this place is overpriced.

Server: Melanie ( You’re Amazing ! ) There was not one honest complaint , Food was amazing ! Bowls fill you right up & the oils have so much FLAVOR ! You really don’t have to load up on oils/sauce like you do @ hulas ! Sushi rolls are HUGE compared to other popular sushi restaurants , You definitely don’t have to order 2-3 plates just to get full ! The servers are great , Management is amazing . They show very much hospitality, & what’s more to ask for ?? Such an amazing restaurant that orland needed , Perfect for any occasion! Definitely coming back with the whole family šŸ«¶šŸ¼
