China Palace — Restaurant in Orlando

I ordered Pepper steak and it turned out to be dry. I was really hungry and it was later in the evening, about 930pm. So, the next day, I called them and they said to bring it back in. Mind you, the female employee who I also think may be the manager or the owner was very short with me and extremely rude. Ewwww.. I was thinking... So, I took the nasty food at this point that just looking at it was a source of frustration sense I was still hungry that previous night and now I was hungry again the next day, which was today, but couldn't stomach eating that food and it made me sick.

I went ahead and called them back and told them I would come and bring it back and get a new plate. Before I could say anything else, the same female manager hung up on me. I was thinking, Oh man, I hope my food is going to be ready when I get there sense I called it in. So, I get there and it takes her a minute to come out from the back as I'm standing there. Eventually, after what seemed a while, she came around to the front and I asked her, is it ready because my taxi is waiting. She acted like she wasn't expecting me and had nothing ready. Instead, she snapped my food and walked it to the back where she then stayed gone for another long 3 to 4 minutes while I waited up front and my taxi waited outside. So, I kept calling her to come back up front because I coulddn't wait and they should have had this meal already prepared for me... Since I had to leave and I couldn't wait, I asked for a refund. At this point, I was frustrated and just wanted to get my money back. I said to her, I don't know why your treating me like this, I come here all the time and I send other people here all the time as I run a bed and breakfast not too far away from there. "And she simply gave me money and said, "well, don't come back"... I was so humiliated that she said that to me as I have been a patron there for about 5 years and she is going to say something like that to me???!! I said, Okay , then I won't come back and I won't send anyone else here either. She seemed just fine with that as well.

After I left, I went to McDonalds, because I had to eat which cost me more in my taxi because of her rude attitude and very poor service. Later that evening, when the night had come, a few hours later, I called back and asked to speak to the manager. She was the one who answered the phone and didn't put anyone else on to speak to me. So, I assume she was the manager, but she wouldn't tell me her name, even though I asked. By now, I have been going there for year, and because of this situation, I really needed to know her name just to be able to be respectful in addressing her. But she wouldn't give it. I found all of this to be concerning. Plus, if you are complaining about service, it's good to get the name of the person to whom you have a complaint. Anyway, she was short again, and hung up on me several times. But it was important to me, so I made sure she knew that if she hung up on me again when I'm just trying to understand why the service to me has been so bad, that I would leave a bad review for their restaurant on Google and on Yelp as well as lodge a report with the Orange County Food Inspector, in reference to my complaints. I felt that the food I was eating there that made me a little sick. I would have rather discussed this with them, but they preferred to hang up on me. They didn't care about service or public health at all was my impression. I felt then and I still feel now that they are a danger to the public and don't care about quality of food or service. And should you ever question their service or food, they will tell you not to come back again and continue endangering the public with bad practices that clearly need to be looked at. I will never eat at this place again. I gave them a second chance and they failed! I ordered Beef Broccoli, with fried rice, Chicken chow mein noodles...when I say it was bland...IT had NO FLAVOR! NO GARLIC FLAVOR WHAT SO EVER! The chicken was dry and taste like rubber. I added soy sauce to the food and that didn't help. I did notice people knew the owners as Ma.And Pop!...the prices Are reasonable. It's located in the ghetto...SOME people go there because of lack of transportation...well I would rather travel and spend more and get food that has been cooked and prepared with love. Than food thrown together...the setting in the restaurant? Well HOT!!!! IT was hotter inside than out! There were 4 fans. 3 we're running and a friend that was with me turned on the fan as he came into the door....FIX YOUR AIR conditioner! Just my opinion! But care ENOUGH about your customers to want to see them comfortable while they wait for their food! I could have taken the food back for my money back. I just was not...

So my go-to dish these days is bourbon style chicken but with spicy garlic sauce (can't stand that way too sweet shizzle) well first of all it's not just chicken and sauce here there's cabbage & onions too (I also added water chestnut the 2nd time around) nice strips of chopped grilled chicken... I've been back almost every day since finding this place (happen to be working on the area currently) But the real gem bonus here is the fried rice, I normally go with steamed to soak up extra sauce, but being a new spot I tried the PFR with my bourbon dish. HO LEE CRAP! I was absolutely stunned by how good their fried rice is, unreal! And so much little pieces of pork unlike the sparse amount you normally find in PFR...
