We Used to love Cracker Barrel But the ormond Beach locations has a lot of work to do to control their staff and food quality. We gave this location Two strikes and that's all they're getting. The first time we had a problem at checkout. A lady at the counter named Dottie who has been there forever. They say and is untouchable actually attacked us Verbally for trying to pay with a hundred dollar bil. She actually went so far as to refuse to take it. Ranting we don't take those here like it was foreign money! If it was a mom and pop place, I could understand them not having the change But this is Cracker Barrel, they do A huge business for breakfast. She just didn't want to go get it .very poor attitude. we called the manager clint and was told that she'd been there forever but he would talk to her. We decided to give them another chance and returned to unfortunately get Denise as a server. More than 15 minutes after we'd been seated.Denise finally shows upp and says she's been hassling with to go and she couldn't get the stapler working and LA.LA la and she didn't want to take the c* in the kitchen and LA.LA.La. We finally got her Is to stop making excuses and take our order. We got through the order fine But then she headed over to a table of her friends and started showing them photos. And videos. She spent so much time at that table that she never bothered to check our food. So it languished in the back till a runner had time to get it out for her. Because of that , my eggs benny was barely warm, and We didn't get our biscuits) .ketchup butter or an extra order of hash browns.. Deserving so I was upset when My husband had to stop me from jumping up to get it all from the kitchen myself. And she noticed and finally tore herself away from i guess her regulars and came by . This review Gets worse. I swear this is the truth, .We both found hair in our eggs. We called Denise back to the table again. And I told her there was a hair in my holidays. She picked it up and took it away immediately without so much as a word. She took my bowl of grits with it and didn't ask me if I wanted anything else . I was hungry.I was at least gonna eat my bowl of grits but she didn't care if I got breakfast or not. We complain to the manager who unfortunately called her on it.Why we were Still seated. She came back for revenge. And verbally assaulted us.. She slammed her hand on the table and was yelling in our face saying " This has been so pleasant!! Yea getting called out for a poor work ethic is not supposed to be pleasant. Yelling about how her daughter had just passed the police academy and she Was Just showing Pictures and? videos of tceremony!! We found this attitude Incredibly entitled and out of touch with what a server is supposed to be doing. While at work! In closing, Staff apparently does not respect management.or management is doing a poor job of overseeing its employees. In any case , The long timers have gotten comfortable and think they can Behave any way they want to customers Without repercussions. It's not that hard to make eggs.Cracker barrels gonna have to try a little harder. There are too many places to have breakfast around here. We most definitely will...
Read moreWe had a young server and her name started with a P. I don’t want to list her name so as not to embarrass her. She addressed us ladies as guys and when we said what we wanted to drink, she said no problem. That was the beginning right there, absolutely no respect for the customer. We mentioned it to her and she had no idea, so they are not properly trained and it’s probably not even her fault. When we gave her the order, we told her we wanted jelly for the biscuits , ranch dressing to go with the okra, and extra ice in the water l. She brought none of it. She had to go back each time for all three when we had told her exactly what we wanted to save her steps when we ordered. When the chicken came, she did not bring honey or ketchup so we had to wait and ask her for that. Before we ordered we asked her what was good today. She said she didn’t eat anything there but the grilled chicken strips or something like that. We asked her about specials and she says it’s Friday and we have cod. Well it was Thursday not Friday! Now for the food. The fried chicken was extremely greasy and was mostly breading. The other lady had chicken and dumplings, and it was very liquidy and only one tiny 2” piece of chicken. However, the dumplings tasted good she said. The meatloaf was very mealy, like loaded with bread and was not the way they used to be. I thought their fried chicken was the best around but have not been in a while and it was absolutely terrible as I said. Publix does a much better job. The server cleared nothing off the table the entire meal. A manager woth tattoos all over his arms was talking in the back and on his phone at times. The taller manager was busy and seemed to be handling things at the back and the register. We understood why he never checked on us. Cracker Barrel used to be the only place in town to go. We were at the Ormond location. This was the worse experience in every way. We are done with Cracker Barrel. It’s not the same as it once was. It’s a shame . I wish now I had taken photos to...
Read moreWe eat at Cracker Barrel regularly. We were traveling and stopped here on Black Friday. Never again. The “holiday” menu is a joke. Very trimmed down. Our waitress said “I only work here. They just tell us you can order from this menu or order nothing”. She went on to say that the menu is due to so many people working they are “stepping all over each other in the back”. Ummm...the menu and what you cook isn’t going to change that. My daughter couldn’t eat as the meal she gets isn’t on this menu. We decided we would grab her something elsewhere. The meal my husband wanted - Double Meat Breakfast - wasn’t available since “nothing is thawed for that so we don’t have it on the menu”. No sausage links either. My 2 eggs (which she made an exception for since these weren’t on there as an ala carte items) were undercooked. White was runny, like water. Waitress said she would have another order done, came back about 5 minutes later to tell us she would take them off the bill. The biscuits and gravy my husband ordered were burnt biscuits. As we were waiting for the bill, the waitress gave our bill to table behind us and they questioned it, waitress said “oh sorry, that’s for those people. I forgot to fix it for them since they wouldn’t eat the eggs.” Seriously? 1. She was supposed to reorder them 2. She didn’t even remember to fox the bill 3. She has no business telling anyone else that. Asked for a manager - there wasn’t one visible by the kitchen like most Cracker Barrel’s. Was told there was no manager available to speak to us. All around the most disappointing visit to a Cracker...
