We saw reviews online and realized this was basically one of the only places open near us at the time, so we stopped off for some pizza. A drunk couple tried to get into our car, right before they offered to help us back out of our parking spot. Let's start there!
There's a dance club attached to this place and the door swings open to extremely loud music. Windows everywhere, so you could see that they are packed like sardines in there, with lights and music vibrating the floors.
Out of those doors, was this tiny pizza restaurant space, with barely any room to sit. People kept entering and leaving for bathrooms and for food.
The food is cheap in price and quality. It's beyond greasy and overly processed. calzones were undercooked (chicken) and the pizzas were overcooked. It takes a while to get your order because they are swamped with multiple orders at any given time. They have a system but it was slow, the day we went. Not sure if that's what it's always like there or not but considering the amount of traffic they had, I guess it works for them.
Our group tried both pizzas and calzones. None of us can recommend this place so unless you like this type of environment and can handle the extra grease, it's on you! Also, highly stress that if you're super anxious, don't like crowds, can't stand loud noise, are impatient .... then I highly suggest a different non-triggering establishment.
I'll stress again about parking that there's a shared space with a club and there's so many people, so parking wasn't so easy. To top it off, we did have a disturbance with drunks, and we felt uncomfortable leaving our cars there because it's extremely easy for someone to hit your vehicle... Especially, some of the angled parking spots there.
We settled on 2 stars because they were the only ones open within a reasonable distance from our hotel. Also, a positive bonus point, if you like their food, is that they do give you an option to select 1 free decal of your choice and they have a handful of options to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn a rainy and tipsy Saturday night, I was absolutely starving, and OHOP was all that was open. Iām allergic to tomatoes so I ordered the mac n cheese pizza and substituted the tomato sauce for their alfredo sauce. I havenāt always been allergic to tomatoes, and I fondly remember the days when I could eat pizza without a care in the world. With food allergies, I get super nervous ordering at restaurants especially for delivery. But the delivery person double checked at the door that my order was correct and safe for me BEFORE I even said anything. I felt so at ease from that alone. My pizza was absolutely amazing. Fluffy crust with just the right amount of crispy on the edges. Mac n cheese wasnāt overcooked or mushy and was the perfect texture (Iām autistic so this is saying a lot). The alfredo wasnāt too garlicky and complimented the mac nicely. It is so rare that I can find a pizza that is safe with my health issues AND tastes good. I just about cried eating it (I was a couple drinks in, but my point still stands) and I have not stopped thinking about that pizza since. I would do questionable things to get more of that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's actually insane how swiftly they deliver. The website claims a 30-40 minute delivery time, when it always ends up being 10 minutes at least and 20 minutes at most. Perhaps the most powerful component of the pizza-delivering mogul of Orono is this delivery system. Whereas such food-delivery companies like Doordash and Uber Eats had given their workers a rest day during a snow storm, OHOP remained standing vigilantly against the frigid exhalations of northerly Boreas himself, sending delivery people with the expediency associated with winged-foot Hermes of the golden wand. Albeit, the golden wand of the drivers are the bounty of the people they deliver their food to. I recall fondly timing their delivery speeds, estimating a minimum of fifteen minutes. I called at 7:00 PM, and, by the blessing of the holy spirits of the Golden Age, I was called at 7:12 with the sweet words that my deliverer had arrived at the doorsteps of my college building.
Frankly, however they do it, I'm deeply impressed.
The food is also...
