Corner Market — Restaurant in Ottawa

Would give more stars but the reason I love this place is their Lobster Bisque soup. When they have it on the menu it often runs out. I have called numerous times and here lately it's always minestrone soup. I love going their with my wife and we have a nice time together over a wonderful bowl of soup. Maybe you could have it on a certain day of the week. We actually drive about 45 minutes to get the soup when they have it. Love to pair your soup with your Cuban sandwich. Anyway just missing your wonderful 🦞 bisque. 🙁.

Visited again in August of 2024 and was really disappointed. Ordered the $10 artichoke dip with Tortilla chips. The dip didn't appear to have any artichoke in it. It looked like mashed avocado with some other spices and it came in a small condiment cup less than 3 ounces. We left and the help was too busy surfing their phones to even say goodbye or ask if we liked our food. Me and my wife used to LOVE driving almost 40 miles to the Corner Market.

It's really easy to write a generic review and say the food is excellent, drinks are excellent, service and atmosphere are excellent, because that's all true. But above and beyond all those incredible qualities is this: I left my purse there like a fool, and they kept it safe for me all day while I walked around blissfully ignorant to what I was missing lol. When I called after they were already closed to inquire if it was there, they allowed me to quick pop in and grab it. (I hope they didn't have to stay too much longer than they normally would have!) Can't begin to explain how much I appreciated that, excellent human beings working at a great spot....

I love this place! I am a local so I go quite often... Not as often as some but often enough. I love the smothered tuna sandwich, the Cuban sandwich, I love their salads... Which you can order as a wrap too if you would prefer. The service is usually always pleasant and helpful and the atmosphere is laid back, and usually quiet. There is a rentable event space in the back so sometimes that affects the quietness but I've never had it be so loud it hurt my ears or anything. You can still sit and have a conversation in the front area while an event is taking place in the back. Definitely try this place if you haven't already, it's one of my favorite...
