Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Ottawa

Well tonight I ordered a banana split the clerk behind the counter named Gabe was very very nice and said we don't sell those but I can makeshift you one I said that would be amazing then we waiting about 25 mins for our stuff to be made I had seen he had already made something and also made my son's ice cream and set it on the counter so I thought he could make mine well after about 10 more mins of waiting I went up to the counter to see if this was mine cause the little dish of ice cream was already melted the manger came over his name was Tony well first off he was rude and said this was mine when I asked what the other dish was here said that's your "banana split" we don't make those and he "Gabe" shouldn't of told you he could. First of Gabe did a great job fantastic and you too shot your employee down like that was rude and uncalled for I didn't even mine waiting the extra 20 mins for y'all to make my ice cream that was wrong as well but that's another story. Not too often I leave a google review anywhere, but when you walk into an establishment where you literally have to walk flat footed or else you’ll slip and fall from all the grease coating the floor, I had to leave a review. Besides the floor, this place looked like it hadn’t been cleaned all week; dirty front counter, fingerprints all over the glass of the front entrance, condiment counter had trash and streaks of who knows what over it, tables at least looked like they had been wiped down (probably not with a wet rag though), and nobody in the kitchen had hair nets on. The guy working the front counter was friendly and our order was fulfilled quickly. The 5-6 employees that were standing around chatting and talking to their friends who had come in to not order anything and sit at the table could have better spend their time cleaning for sure. Updated review... My last review is this restaurant was 4 years ago. Some things have changed and not for the better, resulting in a lowering of the rating. Condiments are not accessible to customers, instead you have to bother an already very busy employee. Salt, pepper and sauce used to be readily available and needs to be again. If they are busy good luck getting condiments. The amount of fries you get with a regular meal has also considerably shrunk, which is disheartening considering they are still the best fries in town. Food was good, place was busy but not overwhelming so. It was clean and staff was busy but friendly. Price was a bit high for the reduced portions but not terrible overpriced. Will visit again and hope to see a few...
