We've only been to the supper-club - not the lodge. It's a fun spot to visit when up in the Ottertail County area. We have visited several times while visiting friends on nearby lakes over the Summer. Typically it's been on a Friday evening. That's meat raffle night! There you go - take a chance and perhaps you'll walk away with a package of steaks. ...sadly we didn't. However, we've had wonderful meals with staff that is attentive, friendly, pleasing; and very helpful. If you really feel luck you can buy pulltabs. When you're Up North at the Lake, and don't feel like cooking - let the folks at the Otter do it - and you enjoy your time.

Had Easter buffet here. It was delicious and a very affordable price. We had a group of 15 and they were wonderful to work with! The table set up was great and the atmosphere was very comfortable. There were alot of people there but we were seated immediately and I was impressed with how quiet the place was.

Our server was nice and friendly. She took our drink & food orders quickly. The restaurant was filling up fast & it was busy. Our food was hot and delicious & the service was excellent, too. I had the steak, and he had crusted parmesan walleye.

I am with XSarge and muskrat2 - I don't know where Myrna stayed, but the Otter Supper Club and Lodge is not it. ||||We had a family reunion July 28-29 in Henning. We stayed at the Otter 26 - 30th.||||We stayed in the room with the center balcony - we came back one night after our family reunion in Henning and there were people on our balcony drinking. They went out the door at the end of a hallway, meant as an emergency exit, propped the door and enjoyed our balcony - leaving all their empties and cig butts behind. ||||The only thing we found good was the water pressure in the shower. Towels were skimpy. We stayed in a room for 4 and got 3 bath towels, 1 hand towel and 3 wash clothes. Had to ask for toilet paper and then they only give you one at a time. ||||The beds were okay and sheets clean.||||The big sliding glass doors on the front rooms with the balconies had thin grey curtains that let the heat and light of the day into the rooms, making it hot! The window was so dirty you had to open it to get a clear view of the outside. The AC worked all the time to keep up and then at night it got too cold. You had to get up and turn it off.||||The BANDS may have been really good and talented - but way too loud, when the people in the room farthest from the supper club could feel and hear the music till the plug was pulled at closing time. I don't know how anyone could sit in the club and enjoy music that loud - deafening. They when the band was done they took 2 hours to load up and leave and they were not very quite about it. ||||The lodge lobby was filthy. Every nook and cranny had an old TV stored in it. When the band stopped playing, all the drunks thought it a good place to hang out for a couple hours. The first night we thought it was guests of the lodge and then some girl yells at 230AM - HEY, I NEED A RIDE HOME, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME A RIDE HOME? In the morning the clean up crew would pick up all the bottles, glasses, cig butts, paper, garbage - no one bothered trying to clean up the new stains from spilled drinks (hopefully they were from spilled drinks) on the carpet.||||SO, enough said - I have more, but will stop now. ||If you are into loud music, and want to party till 3 or 4AM, this is the place to stay. You can walk to your room and not get killed on the road or...

A friend told me it's an excellant supper club with a so-so hotel. That about sums it up. When we first arrived we really were not impressed with the lobby area--dirty worn carpet and very hot. We had to go into the supper club to register, but the staff was very helpful and it went smoothly. Once in the room, the first thing we noticed was the window. It had not gotten it's spring cleaning--maybe hadn't gotten one last year either--looks like it's going to be a 2. Checked the beds--great looking headboards, clean sheets, no sign of bedbugs, room is fairly clean--starting to feel better. Oh Oh, found the smoke detector in a dresser drawer--back to a 2.||||We went to dinner and told the hostess about the smoke detector (or lack there of). She notified a manager who said that he would fix the problem immediately and he did. We might be back up to a 3.||||After dinner we went for a walk and found that there is no lake access within walking distance. No big deal, but a little disappointing. Got back to the room just as the music started in the bar. It was LOUD--and went to 1:00 AM--the rating is back down to a 2.||||In the morning, we found that the coffee maker had not been cleaned and the old coffee packet was still in the machine. Now it's really 2, but--the bathroom is clean, there is good water pressure, the shower drains fast and the towels are clean and fluffy.||||The bottom line is--we grudgingly give this place a 3.||||The dinner was great. We had the walleye finger appetizers before the main course and ended up with two much food. Luckily there was a fridge in the room for the leftovers. They went home with us in our cooler, as there was...

Let's talk food first, Had a burger that was nothing but rubbery mash that came in between two of the soggiest buns I've ever had. It was as if the buns went through water before getting assembled into the burger. The fries were oddly greasy for being as undercooked as they were. Then comes the beer... Had a Bud Light on tap that was warm, flat, no head, and had a harsh metallic taste... Then comes the room, We walked in and all you could smell is some kind of mixture as if it was cat piss, wet dog, and idk vomit. Funny enough they have a sign listed that if someone throws up they will clean it for an additional $250. Seems like it might be a regular occurrence? Then after going no. 1, the toilet decided to overflow like non other eventually flooding the bathroom! After over 10 phone calls we finally got a hold of someone and was able to switch rooms. I feel that if they just took some time to spruce up the place, work on the food, clean the taps or get a fresh keg. It might be a bit better but overall did not have a great experience. And I will be checking my bank statements and if I find a charge for that toilet, I will be getting a...
