The Shack - BBQ Eats & Cool Treats — Restaurant in Ottertail

Both times I’ve been here the last year, the food was incredible. Both times, the service left me upset. The first was when the cook knocked on the window of my car and asked for the food bag back. He ripped it open and took one of the packages out because he had given me too much. That felt weird. This time, the server checked off each item on my online order receipt before tying the bag shut with a knot. When we got home, there was no coleslaw, our extra-charge sauces were not included, and the ribs (delicious) had no barbecue sauce at all. It was over $60 total for a meal for two and my $11 side was forgotten. I want to speak directly with the restaurant and just get my refund for the side but their phone goes straight to the answering machine and they have not called me back. “Clover” customer service is a dead link. Again, the food was delicious. I will go again. Just cut your bag open before you leave and check yourself.

Absolutely terrible food, the worst BBQ I've ever had in my life. I got the sampler and all 4 meats were dry and tough. The 1/4lb of brisket was basically all fat. Nothing had good flavor. Coleslaw and Mac were inedible. $9 for a small serving of soggy underdone onion rings. I don't understand how this place is even open, and has decent reviews. We stopped for lunch and the three of us all ordered a different meal. The smoked pulled chicken was tender and smoked perfectly, the brisket tender and delicious. The ribs had a great smoke flavor and just the right amount of chew. We all had the beans and they were fantastic! I do some smoking myself and this was BBQ at championship level....
