I visited La Finca for first time for supper yesterday evening. Surpisingly good restaurant in Overbrook, KS. I ordered fajitas and wife ordered a dish titled mariachi. We both really enjoyed the meals. My fajitas were steak, chicken and shrimp with bell peppers and onions, and jalapenos added to the mix per my request. Came with rice and beans, flour tortillas, guac, pico de gallo and sour cream. The sizzling iron plate was expected, and the meat was cooked perfectly, a very clean presentation and it did taste great. There was alot of meat on the dish compared to other mexican restaurants that have veggies make up half or more of dish (skimping on meat)....not at La Finca. I usually rate mexican eateries based on quality of beans, the refried beans here were really very good. Guac was very thick and good. Huge portions, alot to take home. Wife's dish looked good and according to her, it was exceptional. It had shrimp, steak and bacon with onion on a hot plate like fajitas, with a white cheesy lattice cover. She said bacon made the dish. Wife had house margarita which was good and I had a couple Modelas. Free chips and salsa. House salsa very bland but suitable for location, and their spicy salsa available upon request was very good with good heat. Chips seemed average but were warm and crispy. Overall, 4.5 stars, a very good and clean restaurant and I will be happy to return.....chile verde and chili colorado next...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give less if I could. Three strikes and youāre out. We went three different times. Each time something was incredibly disappointing!! Each time either they failed to serve one person at the table or someoneās plate didnāt have what was listed in the menu. The most disappointing part is the wait staff would argue with us about our questions or request. This last visit was the worst of ALL!! We know it can take FOREVER to get your food so we ordered something extremely easy. Well it still took 30 minutes for our food even though there was only three other tables that didnāt have their food. Again they left off an ingredient listed in the menu. They argued again so we suggested they read the menu. They realized we were right but took another 10 minutes to get refried beans for the nachos which were just mushy by that time. The whole restaurant was being run by teenagers. They were hustling but no one was there to back them up and help with tables. The ground beef in our food was so tasteless and gross. How can you mess up taco meat!!!!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe just recently moved outside Carbondale and one of our friends told us to go try the bar n grill in Overbrook called TJās(which is also delicious) and then we saw La Finca and stopped in the next day and weāve been back 3 times since. It puts most of the Topeka mexican restaurants to shame; everything weāve ordered so far has been packed with flavor! A lot of places donāt season their beef and to our surprise theirs was deliciously seasoned 𤤠everything has also came out fresh and steaming and the service has always been great too; super friendly and attentive. Definitely going to be a regular stop...
