I was a little disappointed with the menu during KC Restaurant Week. While the atmosphere was upbeat, the items were average and quite displaced. It was as if the meal was just put together in a hurry without attention to the small details - similar flavors, cuisine type etc. I also had the pleasure of overhearing another guest argue with the chef about rice vs. orzo. The menu clearly stated orzo, which is a pasta shaped like rice, however, the meal came out with rice. A big disappointment for the guest, which I agreed was not the same. To give you an idea of what my meal consisted of the chili which was hearty and flavorful. However, the cornbread piece was a 1x1x1 inch square. Hardly enough to say it was a piece of cornbread. The other options were your average bar menu or off the KCRW menu: Filipino Lumpia or Vietnamese Chicken Dumplings... very different cuisines. For my main course, I chose the burger which was off the normal menu. I was not interested in the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich, Open Faced Meatloaf Sandwich, Pesto Salmon or Japanese Chopped Salad. For the dessert course I had 2 options: Green Tea creme Brûlée vs. the Key Lime Pie. The Creme Brûlée was very good, but just not large enough. The BEST thing about my meal was the pear mule. It had a fun presentation and was delicious! Will I go back...unlikely, yet I was grateful for the experience, chuckle and opportunity to try another...
Read more*Update! Had dinner here yesterday. Food was so good! Service excellent. Bar was full as the weather was beautiful for February. People itching to get out on the green. I had the Spicy chicken Lettuce wrap appetizer which was plenty for my main. It was spicy and very tasty. My BF had the prime rib dip sandwich served with warm freshly made chips. We were very happy đ
Unfortunately not a good update to my previous excellent review. Came for Restaurant Week, menu was not good. I ordered the salmon which was literally 3 bites. It was maybe 3" long and 1" wide. Pasta was 1 cup. That's it! $40 for that and a small appetizer of 3 shrimp and a teeny tiny piece of dry lemon cake. My BF ordered the steak, again, such a small portion. To slices of steak onto a bit of mashed potatoes. App was a thimble of clam chowder. I thought the whole point of restaurant week was for people to try your food? These are not normally dishes that are on your menu. The other choices were chicken scewers and RAMEN. Seriously?? For $40??? Big fail IMO.
Service was great.
Atmosphere not great. Freezing cold Saturday night but the...
Read moreI play golf every week here. I will not be purchasing anymore food or cocktails from Club 27 again in the future. I will buy draft beer because they canât really screw that up. Like I said, I play every week here and every week the drink prices seem to change and the food portions do too. 2 weeks ago I ordered their new Buffalo Shrimp lettuce wraps because my friend had ordered and it looked really good. I ordered it and was impressed with how many shrimp came with it for $12. There were actually 12 shrimp because we counted. Ordered it again tonight and I was flabbergasted when it appeared before me. Counted â6â small shrimp. Asked for the manager and he explained it couldnât be possible because itâs based on weight and âit is what it isâ. Also, one week I ordered a Manhattan cocktail (it was $10). The very next week I ordered it again and it was $16.50! My buddy ordered the same drink 3 days later and it was $10! I would suggest verifying what the prices are BEFORE ordering as after the fact,...
